Ok we have been talking a lot about the non-mom jeans. Today was a beautiful day here in the northeast. I put on my non-mom boot cut jeans with a "spring" top. Do I still wear my "boots"- actually there are not boots they are short but under the jeans they look like boots.

So what kind of shoes do you wear in the spring and summer w/ low rise boot cut jeans? or do you not wear the boot cut in warm weather? I'm so confused :confused3

Thanks for the help. I'm new to this.

Oh, geez, my non-fashionista-ness is zapping me again. What the heck are non-mom jeans?
:confused3

You know - the lower rise jeans. The mom jeans are the high waisted.

I wear my boots until it really gets hot enough for capri pants or shorts. Don't know if that's right or not :confused3 .

Hi Jennifer, here is St. Louis we also have a beautiful day and I faced the same question. My new favorite shoe of choice is the tennis shoe/flat hybrid. It looks really cute with jeans and you can also wear it with shorts later in the summer. They kind of look like sporty flats, and there are many different choices out there, some more dressy and others more sporty. Some have have criss-cross straps on the top, I know Skechers has some like this, others look more like mary janes or even ballet flats. Anyway, that's what I'd recommend, but I'd love to hear other suggestions from the disers.

Enjoy your weather. I loved spring in PA while I was there, it lasted so long. Here spring sometimes feels like summer too early.

Hey Becky - how are you? Haven't seen you or Beth around- then again I don't dis as much either. Thanks for the suggestion. I 'll have to look it up on -line. I was so confused getting dressed this morning. I am liking the weather though.

Ummmm....Ccccccrrrrroooooocccccssssss!

Flip-Flops, Ballet Flats, someone else mentioned the criss/cross athletic style... and, heels. Yes, heels.

A wedge sandal would be nice too. :sunny:

I pretty much only own boot cut and flared jeans. They work best for my body type. And I live in my jeans -- all times of year I wear them (of course, I have to wear pants to work for safety reasons). Anyway, at the moment I have flats on. You can wear your boot cut jeans with many types of shoes I think. Boots, heels, sandles, sneakers, flats, whatever you feel comfortable in. I don't like dragging the bottom of my jeans on the ground, so I just make sure of that.

Oh. Yeah, I know the type. I wear the mom-jeans. I like that phrase much better than being told I'm not a fashionista. :)

I don't like that either. I guess I gotta go shoe shopping for the warmer months.

i like mine with pointy toed pumps and i also like them with strappy, open toed high heeled sandals. mine don't look good with flats bc they were hemmed for my boots with a 1.5 inch heel.

Oh, darn. Shoe shopping! :goodvibes

I've been known to roll the hem just once if they drag.. but then, I'm a big dork, so maybe I shouldn't be giving fashion advice. :D

I'm at work in NMJ's right now, with a low heeled strappy sandal. It's 83 in Orlando right now :)

Hey ladies, we have another we need to convert! It's not about being a fashionita, it's about magically erasing pounds and years!

I am also at work in my non-mom jeans! I have high heeled mules on with mine today. I wear pretty much any shoe with my jeans, from heels to non-workout sneakers.

OK, your weather makes ours sound not so great.

I'm on my feet all day, working hard for the money ya know! So I wear my New Balance tennies with my boot cut jeans and I don't think it's bad. The hems just barely touch the floor. To actually "go out" I wearmy boots with a low heel. I have been known to wear sandals with them in the summer, but I don't know if that's a good thing or not. I'm a very plain, jeans & t-shirt kinda gal, so I don't really know the rules.

I do know that MOM JEANS ARE A HUGE NO NO ! :sad2:

i live in jeans (and the occasional black pant) in the fall, winter, early springtime. all of my jeans are mid rise boot cut. in the cold weather i wear a boot or shoe with a 1.5 to 2 inch heel in the warmer (pre short/ capri) weather it is a wedge sandal or 1.5 to 2in heeled sandal.
if i am wearing sneakers or a flatter shoe, then it is in my st. johns bay straight wide leg jeans. being only 4'11" i don't wear a flat shoe very often, lol.

Okay, I'll bite. What are "non-workout sneakers"?

That's easy, my sneakers that I don't work out in. :teeth: :rotfl:

My current pair are brown suede Vans, so to me non-workout sneakers are a non-athletic casual sneaker, like some Skechers, Vans, etc.
This is similar to my shoe, but not quite it:

If I could be converted, anyone can be!!! :teeth: I need to go shopping for another pair. I need to bring my DH, though, so he can get a non-dad pair of jeans. He wears whatever the cheapest pair is and then pulls them down a little so they are not over his belly and they pooch in the back. Does he think that looks good??? Honey, do these jeans make my butt look big? :lmao:
