Non mobile order...

I'm wondering if more non mobile order registers are being opened up yet? Are there any places that only have mobile order? Is anyone finding places that are quicker without mobile ordering? I'm hoping I don't need to spend all my days on my phone!

I loved using mobile order and bypassing lines. Longest wait for food was Mint Julep Bar, and even that was only 35 minutes. It took about 5 minutes to order each time, so it was very fast, and almost every time I could get an immediate return time if I wanted it. I'd reconsider using mobile order - very easy to do especially if you are in a line for a ride or character anyway!

I have found that mobile ordering is always faster and more convenient than waiting in line. It is quick and easy so personally it doesn't make me feel like I am on my phone more than usual. You might feel differently about it after you give it a try. I think the Cones in Carsland are the only locations that require mobile order, but I could be wrong about that (a few other mobile order only locations have been added by other posters below. I was definitely wrong. Lol).

You don't have to use it if you don't want, they do have registers available. If you are willing to eat at off-peak hours you can probably get by without pre-ordering. It's a choice I make for each restaurant and time if they are starting to back up with mobile order times or lines to order.

I can see myself using it some of the time, but I will be paying foreign currency transaction fees every time I use my credit card. So I'd rather wait in a regular line than a long mobile order line, and in quite a few reports people have complained about how long they are waiting for mobile order. I guess I just want the choice. We generally eat early to beat the rush.

We used mobile order for everything except Plaza Inn because they don't have mobile order. I found it to be super easy and we always had a quick return time and no wait. Often there were long lines for non-mobile order. We usually just picked lunch while we were in line for something, got a return time often right away or less than 30 min out. We'd make our way over to the pickup, hit the "I'm here, make my food" when we were 5-10 min away and then we'd pick up our food within minutes of arriving at the restaurant. Totally worth it and not a lot of time on my phone. Easily saved us hours of cumulative time waiting in lines over 4 days. Especially worth it when I have husband and son who get hangry and hangry and long lines are not a good combo.

You will be in for some LONG waits if you stand in line to order at the (usually one) register that is open. Some places are mobile order only, like the Cozy Cones that sells ice cream and the Tiki Juice Bar. Sometimes the ice cream parlor on Main Street goes to mobile order only. And some places don't offer mobile order at all, and lines are long at those (Adorable Snowman treats and Rancho del Zocalo, off the top of my head).

Honestly, you will not be on your phone "all day" using mobile order. It literally is a process that takes a minute or 2 to place the order, then just clicking a button when you are ready and waiting for a notification. It's FAR faster and less effort than standing in a line, ordering, paying, and then standing in line again at the counter to pick up your food. The mobile order process is working like a well oiled machine at this point with the majority of cast members at each location dedicated to fulfilling those orders specifically.

I was worried about using mobile order, but once I tried it I thought of it as a fastpass for food. We would just walk right up to the counter and our food would be waiting for us. We skipped some big lines. I usually set up my order when I was in ride lines or waiting for something else. Once I ordered from the Monorail and our food was ready when we got to Pizza Planet.

If you don't want to mobile order maybe just think ahead of time where you want to eat and get there before you're ready for a meal. That way you won't get too hungry waiting. Some restaurants are easier to do walk-up, like Plaza Inn, because it's so big and they have a few registers open. We ordered walk-up at Gibson Girls with no problem, but that was late at night.

They have those prepaid visa cards in most grocery/ walgreens stores. You might just do one transaction for a certain amount and use that for mobile order

Plaza Inn is one that doesn't offer Mobile Order at all. This is why it's an easy one to get in/out at.

I wish Adorable Snowman Treats would add the mobile order option. When that line gets long during the day it’s right in the sun.

ME TOO! I have been wanting a Pixar Parfait for such a long time, but that line is BRUTAL. They used to have mobile order. I don't know why they took it away. I'd prefer if they went the way of Tiki Juice Bar and went 100% mobile. It's literally just soft serve. They can make them assembly line style.

We had very little/no wait times when picking up all of our mobile orders in early June. Usually we would walk up to the one mobile window and get our food immediately.

Most of the time the window for ordering was either immediate or no more than 30 minutes out. We only stood in line at the places that didn't have mobile order. Tropical Hideaway had a long line that took about 15 minutes. At Boardwalk Pizza we were able to get in immediately. Most places that offered mobile orders also had registers for ordering in person.

I'd definitely give it a try! The only reason I'd consider skipping mobile ordering is if you have allergies or customization that can't be done in the app. As other's have suggested you could use a prepaid Visa (that should be able to be saved in the app and used easily) or Disney gift card (that might require entering the number each time) to avoid the constant transaction fees.

Thank you, that's a great idea! Where would you buy a Disney prepay card? Which would be easier, a pre-paid Visa or a Disney gift card?

You can buy a Disney gift card in any of the shops in the parks or if you have a redcard can pre buy at target for 5% off and combine them using the Disney gift card website.

I would suggest buying a gift card at the shops with a regular purchase, that way you only incur one credit card fee for International use. I totally get your point about those fees adding up for our International travelers. Less spending money!! Yikes!!

If you think you will completely use it up, you can buy a gift card in any of the gift shops. The star wars area has a special one that can double as a souvenir. The only advantage to the prepaid visa is that you can use it outside the parks where the Disney gift card is not accepted, and you can store the number as the default payment in the app for easy purchase. The gift card number you have to enter with each purchase, Don't know why they didn't let you store gift card also. I usually see the prepaid visa at grocery or drug stores, either by check out or with the other gift card displays.

Any bank branded "gift cards" charge a service fee.

You can purchase a digital Disney gift card online right now. All you need to do to use it to pay for mobile orders or mobile checkout at merchandise shops is to write down the 12 digit card number in a memo/note app in your phone, then simply copy/paste it into the app as a payment under "Disney Gift Card."
