My family has been a member of DVC since 2002. We have had some great vacations, not necessarily to WDW only, but Vero Beach and Hilton Head. One year we logged in over 3000 miles visiting WDW three times and adding in Vero and Hilton Head on the way home. Nothing like swimming outside in December! The only regrets we have are the lack of percs that are being offered now, paying full price for park admission is a crime, DVC member should at least pay resident rates for everything. A 10% discount a Girardellis is a joke. One other gripe are non members. There should be stringent rules for non members considering how mch points cost now and how much we paid for our points. Every time we go to out Home resort, the Beach Club, there will be noisy people in the halls, dirty dishes/silverware outside room doors, trash outside room doors, it makes the place look like a dump. And I do not mean for hours I am talking days. We have no room service or maids making up rooms every day so why do people think after 4 or 5 days when their dirty dishes are still on the floor that they will be cleaned up by "somebody?" Surcharge non members who can't play by the rules or kick them out! Keep DVC a fAmily !

While I agree that it would be nice to have more perks, who is to say that the people leaving the messes are non DVC members?

I agree that you cannot tell who is leaving trash based on member or not. We just stayed at the Beach Club and sorry, a premium because we are not DVC owners would be crazy. We are clean, and other timeshares don't charge. We already paid an extra $95 dollars at check in for the RCI trade. Members are not cleaner just because they are members. We are very, very clean.

And don't forget that some are Non-Members who have paid cash due to members trading out. If DVC resorts can only be used by DVC members, than either 1) DVC members will need to pay higher MF or 2) DVC members can not trade out.

How do you know these are "non members"? Seriously they are probably MEMBERS.

Disney does not do "manners" testing :lmao:

And some of the rudest people I have ever met at Disney were DVC members (you can tell by two things .... 1) they wear a lot of branded stuff and 2) when being rude to Cast Members they feel they need to announce that 'I AM A MEMBER OF DVC AND I OWN PART OF THIS PLACE" ... LOL! No, you RENTED part of this place!) The members in the room across from me at AKV last time wore lots of merchandise, moved furniture into the hall and piled trash up outside thier room every day... I agree that charging them would have been a great idea!

Next time instead of making "assumptions" pick up the phone, call the front desk and say "there has been trash outside of the room across the hall for days" Seriously we do pay for them to clean the halls and I would complain about that at the Days Inn, much less my DVC.
And if you visted Disney three times why didn't you buy an AP. That would give you a discount! (Not that it's criminal not to give you a discount. At last check there was no law requiring you to get one)

Beach Club does have room service and they should be picking up those dishes. Any hotel I have stayed in has told me to leave the dishes outside the door to be picked up. I agree that you can't assume those are non-members.

Remember calling the Front Desk won't get you the Front Desk, for dishes in the hall; call, Housekeeping, you will then actually get that resort's housekeeping staff.

If that call does not work, stop by the desk in person and ask for the on duty manager.

I agree about there is no way to know if it is members are not, slobs come in all types.

Exactly and if those rooms are getting room service every day, then yes there will be dishes outside of rooms every day of the week.

Another reason to like SSR and OKW; no dirty dishes in the hallways. :thumbsup2
