HI all! Heading out on the Fantasy for the first time in a few days. If we choose not to eat in the main dining room for dinner, what other options do we have? We currently have late seating (on waitlist for early) and we generally don't care to eat that late. We have previously been on the Dream and Wonder years ago and I thought Cabanas was an option. I know things have changed since Covid. Can anyone fill me in? Also, we have first night Remy reservations and I'm not sure our girls (17,13) will want to eat in the MDR without us. Thanks

No cabans dinner at this time. Pizza closes between 6 and 9pm after that it's open again. The place with the burgers and hotdogs is open or roomservice...

Our son ate alone at the MDR when he was 10 (and he barely knew enough English to order) and had the time of his life. He was still there when we came down from Palo and he had a big smile on his face. Your girls should not miss the MDR simply because you are at Rémy. They will be well taken care of by your dining team.

Also, they change dining assignments at the last minute and, in most cases, requests for main will be granted as long as the party is of a standard size. Don't expect to remain stuck on second seating.

Yea I totally agree with Marc, get the kids to go to the MDR without you, they will love it. Give the dining team a heads up and suggest special drinks or something they like. At that age, it should be fun without Mom and Dad.... completely safe experience and encourage them to try new things from the menu, maybe even extra Fries just because they can!!!

we're on late dining on the Fantasy for 4/29 sailing. Hoping to switch to early too, we shall see. 🤞

Room service
I’ve always wanted to order room service and then take it up to the pool deck and eat dinner there. It’s never crowded during dinner.

Way back in 2010 on our first cruise on the Magic, my sons went to MDR by themselves when DH and I went to Palo.
They were 16,12 and 10. It was night 5 or 6 Formal night. They got dressed up (oh, remember when everyone dressed up) and went to dinner without us.
They had a ball. By then the server knew their likes. My youngest was so proud, they new he liked steak and brought him 2 filets, instead of the lobster tail. They still talk about that cruise.
Memories. DCL servers will take extra care of them. They will be treated like Princesses!🚢👍🏻🌴

Keep checking the app like hourly to see if you can change your dining time. I was able to change mine today after stalking the app for a few days.

Last cruise our 13 and 11 year olds went to the MDR while we went to Palo. They loved going alone and had a great time with the waiters!

Not sure if you're asking about only one night or most nights? If you're asking about 1, the options are above. If you're asking about eating every night because you don't want late dining, there aren't a lot of options, unless you eat your 'big' meal in Royal Court each lunch then have the Deck 11 selections for suppers. Cabanas is not open past 2PM right now.

We had always had early dining until last week and now we're late dining converts! Our entire cruise was more relaxed and better. I'd highly recommend giving late dining a try then taking a stroll or getting involved in a few activities after supper while your food settles.

Just another option.

We always moved our meals to the late side since we had late dinner. We were always up later than home so sleep in a bit and went to breakfast later. So Lunch was always later too. There is times we were very hungry anyway.

Or always had a late snack…really meal..lol around 4 up by the pool so we didn’t need to eat until 8:15.

It was nice to have the pool clear out when first dining was near. Or not have to run on the first day after the Sail away because you have to get ready for dinner.
