Non expiring park tickets-Good/Bad

The great thing about buying the Non expiring park tickets for DisneyWorld is that, you can save money in the long run as tickets are going up every year.
The BAD thing is, you cannot get any of the dinning plans unless you buy at least a one day ticket to one of the parks. The non-expiring tickets do not count. A change has been made this year for yearly pass holders that made them exempt from this rule. I think non-expiring ticket holders should be exempt also.

Use the non-expiring ticket and save the ticket that came with the package.

Note that as a general rule the non-epiring ticket has to fully cover two vacations in order to be cost effective.

Thanks for the reply--I purchased a 10 day non-ep ticket and have three days left on it. I live in the state of Washington and the tickets you get in the packages do expire. this is the second time i purchased the 10 day non-ep. tickets and I do save money on park passes.

we were told the "change" for annual passholders this year to then buy the dining plan is to buy "two days of base tickets" Ihave called several times on this and been told the same thing have to buy two days now.....I was very dissappointed with this.

I've been able to get separate offers as a passholder. It's not the same as the general discounts, but it's still a good deal. My sister and I shared a room at All-Star Sports with the quick service dining plan for 3 nights and paid $500 ($250 each). We didn't have to buy tickets at all.

My sister is an annual passholder and I think she had to stay at a Disney hotel in order to get the dinning plan. My gripe is that paying a premium for the non-expiring tickets shoud entitle the holder to the same as the annual passholder.

You always have to stay at a Disney hotel to get the dining plan. How would it benefit Disney to give annual passholder offers to people with non-expiring tickets?

The cost for the 10 day non-exp. park hopper ticket is much more that the annual pass.
The non-exp ticket would make sure that you would be comming back to spend more of your money at Disney and not somewhere else.

you get in the package will expire but the clock does not start until after you have used them the first time. You could hypothetically use that two day ticket on a future trip and upgrade it to a 10 day non expiring then.

We have traditionlly done a ten day non expiring ticket. This past trip we added the water park and more option while there. So now we have ten entries into the water parks or Disney Quest that don't expire, even when our major park tickets are used up, for about $50 each.

I don't know if the math will work out in the future. Disney appears to ahve been raising the cost of the non expiration option faster than other ticket options.
