non exp ticket and children

I am sure this is somewhere but I can not find it

what happens is you buy a non expiring ticket for a child and it does not get fully used before they turn 10?

and a second question. Can you have more than 1 non expiring ticket for a person active at the same time. eg
1 with parkhopping and 1 without

Technically, you are supposed to get your ticket upgraded to an adult ticket. My son will be 10 while we are down there. No way am I paying the extra money to upgrade his ticket. He will be finishing out his park-hopper ticket while we are there, so the next ticket we will buy (for the next visit) will be an adult. Just another way for Disney to get money from us.

Disney will upgrade the ticket for free. As long as it was partially used while the individual was still in the "child" age bracket, they will honor the remainder of the days at the same price level.

I've even had them change a ticket that was NOT used from child to adult for free when my niece didn't use the ticket I"d purchased. I was surprised as I was ready to pay the difference.

And yes, you can have as many tickets going for the same person as you'd like. Before using APs, my DH and I both had hopper and non-hopper tickets going. On days when we were positive we weren't going to hop parks, we used the non-hopper tickets.

That's a great idea. I have always bought park hopper tickets, non-expiring. I had not thought of also buying the non-expiring basic park tickets to use on those days I wasn't planning to park hop.
