Thank you in advance if you have any knowledge to offer me as I begin to plan for a trip next year. We think we might be interested trying to rent points, but have a few questions (not about the rental process) I will number them so if you have an answer to offer you can just put down the number and and an answer

1. We are interested in a week stay within the first 2 weeks of December 2007--is this a posssible time of year to get a ressie or is it getting to close to Christmas or the end of the year for avail or someone willing to rent points for this time frame?

2. Boardwalk appeals to us, is it possible to get a standard instead of a preferred or are these hard to come by since they require fewer points.

3. If we would not use the kitchen much is there a reason to upgrade to a one bedroom over a studio? 2 adults and 1 just turned 6yr at the time.

4. Is there concern of it being very noisy or lots of bright lights in the windows due to proximity to the boardwalk? (I have a hard time sleeping sometimes)

5. I noticed the higher point values for the weekends, how do most of you handle that, do you just pay it or do you stay at a different resort for the weekend prior or after? We were thinking maybe coming in on a Friday night to a resort ressie made through CRO and then switching to the DVC for Sun-Thurs. And if any of you have done this do you stay at a value like pop to save money or do you stay at a Deluxe that you would like to visit since it is only 2 nights. ( Ithought about swan or dolphin with nures discount, but then we could not use ME,and we never rent a car)

6. Is it possible to use ME with a split stay, can you register dropped off at one and picked up at another resort.

Thank you again for any and all imput, I realize this is very far in advance, but a trip was not possible this year and as I am addicted I just have to focus on next year. Also this will probably be our last trip before we start the adoption process again which will occupy resources and time.

Early Decemeber is a VERY populare time with DVC members because of the lower point requirements and and the holiday decor. If you want that time frame, you wil want to contact a BWV owner BEFORE the 11 month booking window to make sure you get that standard view too. Standard view rooms at busy DVC seasons often have to be booked day by day at the 11 month booking window.

You would probably be fine in a studio, but it certainly is nice to have that fridge, laundry and Jacuzzi, not to mention the extra space of common area.

Most of us don't worry about the ponts for the weekend, because we look at it as points for a week rather than a night.

ME can be utilized just the same way it is for other WDW resorts.

Thanks for your response, I was afraid of that. Will it be asking too much to try to do this or be more complicated?? With wanting to rent points I do not want to be rude or presumtuous. I wouldn't want to make a crazy request like Christmas for 9 dollars a point, that's just rude. I think it is so neat that some of the DVC people are generous enough to rent their points. I want to be courteous and not have unrealistic expectations.

I'll usually book a Sunday to Friday reservation to avoid weekend rates. I've found that I can go more often if I avoid Friday and Saturday. Based on airfares, I'll either stay at a Moderate on a Friday or Saturday if I have to be there on those days.

You can book a standard view room, but they may not be available. A studio should be fine for you. I like first floor rooms best at BWV.

Don't worry about the noise, unless your on the Boardwalk. I've never been bothered by noise at BWV.

DME can be used with split stays. I'll be going there on Saturday, staying at POR for Saturday night, moving to BWV on Sunday morning (rooom service will send your stuff over). DME will send you 2 confirmations, one for the airport to your first resort and the other from your final resort to the airport.

Have fun, you'll love BWV.

We also usually stay S thru T, and stay the weekends with the AP discount. But in Dec we are useing points on the weekend.

We're like Diane. We go for the week (many times for 8 or 9 nights) and don't leave the DVC resort to save points. We just average them out over the entire stay. If you can still save money over your other non-DVC choice, stay all 7 nights. It is so worth it not to have to move out. I hate that homeless feeling for the day you change.

Post your request somewhere around the end of this year, so you have a BWV member ready to make your reservation when the 11 month window opens in early January to get you that standard view.

Also, get the one bedroom. It's so nice to be spoiled for a change. You'll love it. :wave2:

1. This time of year is our favorite to visit Disney. Weather, decor, less
expensive. We have never had a problem getting reservations at this
time.
2. Just pick your top 3 places you would like to stay and then see which
reservations you can get.
3. No reason to pay so much more for a 1 bedroom, other than the 1
bedromms have much more room and you will be spoiled for that extra
space.
Also, a nice feature is the washer/dryer in room. I have 3 kids and
this is so nice to have in the room.
4. Have never had a problem with noise at this resort.
5. Ask yourself if you really want to switch rooms during your trip?
re-packing, storing your luggage til check-in, not arriving to the wow
factor at DVC.
6. Cant answer this question.

No matter what you and your family will have a wonderful time. Good luck! :p
