Was just on the phone with member services and just happened to ask if my sis and her husband can check in w/o us being there (I'm the DVC member).
Was told as long as one of their names are on the ressies, they can check in w/o us being there. They are arriving sooner than we are and will make life so much easier. They are driving, we are flying. That means they can check in, get rid of their luggage and come to the airport and get us. Whew! Anyone else aware of this? I always thought that the DVC member was the only person who could check in.

Thanks.

We have had whomever arrived first check in before, and once it was a young man of 18. As long as their name is on the reservation, you are good to go!

You can make a reservation for friends or family to go to a DVC resort using your points without you... not that anyone would :teeth:

Yes, my cousin checked into the room before me, and the only "glitch" was when I charged to the room, it was her credit card that was covering the bill :teeth:

As it turns out, she's not a room key "charger" so in the end only my charges were on the bill and I paid up.

If you are the owner can you check in for yourself and your other family member? Separate units? :confused3

only if your name is on their reservations too. Friends and I do this all the time. We'll have several rooms but whoever gets there earliest might be on all rooms so they can check in for everyone.

I just checked. My daughter's name is on hers but my name is on the top of the reservation! Thanks,I wondered since we want to be near one another and if we arrived and got assignments a couple of hours apart that probably wouldn't have happened! :thumbsup2
