I am curious how many other people wouldn’t have still bought DVC if it weren’t for the 3 offsite properties?

Our family is not particularly Disney fanatics. We have small children and I could see us going regularly for the next 5 years but if it weren’t for the other properties I don’t think I would have see the value for us. With Disney moving away from the offsite properties and loosing 2 of them in ‘42 I am curious how this will affect their sales.

Offsite was not a huge factor for us. Its more of a nice to have vs a have to have. I don't know if we will ever stay at one other than Aulani (really wanting to go to that one!) but we could see doing maybe HHI one year since its not a bad drive for us.

West Coaster. Would not have purchased without Aulani and Grand Cal.

Bought primarily for WDW, VB and HHI are nice perks but did not influence my decision at all. At the end of the day, I'm a theme park junkie and a roller coaster enthusiast at that.

Aulani originally wasn't at the forefront of my mind, but God do we love it and I love the variety it gives to our vacations. It kind of gives us a stopping point on the way to the Pacific because we also love Japan.

So in terms of influencing our decision

WDW>AUL>DL>HHI/VB.

If there had been a DVC ski resort that probably would've jumped the off-site resorts up to number 2 on the list because I love snowboarding as well 😂

I agree it would be minimal. The resale values for VB, HH, AUL are all really modest when compared to the '42 WDW DVC options. The west coasters bring a valid point for AUL, GC and VDH being a huge draw for them. East coast myself, and AUL was our first DVC stay, so maybe something there as well.
I think the affect will be minimal. It could be the cherry on top for people making the decision I guess. Aulani will be there for a long time.

aulani was icing on the cake for us. DL resorts are too as I never expect to be able to book there at 7 months. If we can that’s a happy surprise. I’ll use VB and HH since we have access but WDW was the motivating decision for us.

We bought 99% for the WDW resorts, and eventually have used points at DL, as well. Never had an interest in VB and HH. We did actually book Aulani a couple years back, and then a pandemic hit. We hope to get there in the future - but we didn't buy all our points over the years because of the non-Disney resorts.

I would have at least twice as many points if this had happened.

The only problem I imagine is there would be absolutely no availability during the winter. Summer I guess could be fun depending on the town and if you were into mountain sports or hiking 🤔. It being near a lake too could open the possibility of water sports or swimming

Technically 5
Hilton Head
Vero Beach
Alunai
VDH
Grand Californian

It’s nice to have those as options but it’s wouldn’t have kept me from pulling the trigger
If you say Grand Californian is 'off property', then I don't know what 'on property' would mean.
VGC is the closest (and best) of any of the properties.

Pure WDW when I bought. Aulani if we get there we get there. VB HH No interest. The Cali ones I won't be able to book 7 mo out so probs out too.
