Some friends of ours said their parents just bought a timeshare "on property" but not owned by Disney (not DVC.) Has anyone any information about this? I didn't think there was one.:confused3

Well, Four Seasons is supposed to build something where the Eagle Pines golf course is, but I doubt they could be selling it yet. I'm also not 100% sure of it will have "on-site resort" status (i.e. EMH, transportation, etc.).

Perhaps its part of the Bonnet Creek development...I vaguely recall that Fairfield has taken it over and making timeshares - but it is not considered "on property". You do have to cross into WDW to get there because its surrounded by Disney property and I think I-4 on the fourth side, so it could make people think that is on property, but it is not on Disney-owned land. Currently they do not receive on-site benefits (although they could negotiate that I suppose).

Yep, almost certainly Wyndham Bonnet Creek. Landlocked by Disney, but technically off-site. Beautiful resort, very nice---and a really good deal if purchased resale.

only DVC are on property.

despite what the sales people tell you. and you are right there isn't one.

now Bonnett Creek is between WDW properties. but it is offsite - so no WDW transportation, no DMe, No EMH.

I'm pretty certain they are referring to Bonnet Creek. Those "in the know" know that Bonnet Creek is not "on property", but to the millions of visitors who drive past the sign every year is sure looks like an onsite resort. I mean, it is literally right next door to one resort and almost across the street from another.

I would certainly refer to it as being on property, despite knowing that the land it sits on is not owned by Disney.

being on WDW property has certain benefits. that is while being in a value resort is better to some people than staying in a DD hotel.

both are on property. but the value resort is a WDW hotel and it gets all the benefits.

to imply that BC is on property is to imply it has the benefits of WDW resorts when it definitely doesn't. I have yet to meet anyone who through that the buses that BC uses were even close to what WDW provides.

that is just the buses.

I understand the perks available to a true onsite Disney hotel, and that they are not available to guests of Bonnet Creek. However, strictly from a location point of view, unless you are a Disser, chances are pretty slim that you would consider Bonnet Creek anything but being "on property".
