Has anyone booked their own Stingray City snorkeling excursions through Captain Bryan or Captain Marvin? Was the ride very rough? Did these include other snorkeling locations? Did the tender allow plenty of time? I'm still planning my 8/30 Western cruise and would appreciate any information and other shore excursion suggestions for a 43yo woman who is a strong swimmer/snorkeler.

I am also 43 and did Captain marvins with my hubby and DD15 last August.

I booked online at www.CaptainMarvins.com and we did the 2 hour tour 11:00 - 1:00. Add about 20 minutes each way for travel to the boat.

The boat ride was fine...no more or less than other whale watch/fishing boats I have been on. Captain Marvins was great...a very informative guide, free snorkel and fins, free ice water or fruit punch.

Here are some links to our pics. There are about 3 or 4 pics on each link from Captain marvins. We went to a snorkeling area for about 20 minutes and then to Stingray City and spent another 25 or so minutes there. We felt it was just enough time.
