Non-Disney Hooneymoon?

Shocking, I know... I was just curious if anyone is planning a non-Disney hooneymoon. My fiance and I are looking into a trip to Italy. It is my dream vacation spot. We will definitely spend a few days in Disney with our families...but then it's off to Tuscany!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! We didn't have a total Disney honeymoon either. My husband and I got married in October at an Intimate Ceremony, spent a few days in Disney, then went on a cruise to the Bahamas - not on a Disney ship. It was great and I loved how we combined the Disney wedding with a Disney vacation (mini-honeymoon), and then something completely different in the cruise for our "real" honeymoon.

We have about 6 weeks left until the wedding! Congratulations on your's! It's so exciting, isn't it?!

We're not planning a Disney HM either. Partially because he doesn't have the time off (started a new job in June), but becuase of the costs associated with the wedding alone. We're planning on either doing a Sandals reseort in St. Lucia or Antigua in June or an Alaskan cruise in June or September. Right now, we're leaning heavily towards Alaska.

For us, having the wedding and all the site visit trips associated with it is a huge dose of Disney. We have been going regularly with our families outside of the wedding, too, so... We decided we had the time at Disney but wanted to enjoy a different, more relaxed HM. The choice is your's- even if you decide to hole up at home and unplug the phones!

Things being as they were/are with us wanting to do our backyard, we opted for a mini-moon in Vegas instead of a full-blown honeymoon.

Not shocking. Disney trips tend to be pretty hectic... so much to do and see. A lot of time I feel like I shouldn't waste time in the room when there are parks to see. Well, we want our honeymoon to be relaxing. And we want to be able to "waste" all the time in the room that we want!

After all the wedding and Disney Trip planning, I don't want to have to do anything for at least a week!

You'll LOVE the alaskan cruise!!! I've been fortunate enough to do it twice - cruising the inside passage. It is the most amazing experience!!

I wish we could afford to do both, get married in disney and then go on a honeymoon somewhere else. The way I figure it though, I'll spend the money on my wedding since that is more of a once-in-a-life-time thing, and then when we save up some more money we can go some place for a vacation at another time.

Since i've been with my fiance for four years now, we've been able to go a lot of places together already. And since I love WDW and have NEVER been there with my DH2b, I am really happy that that is where my honeymoon will be!! I've only been there with family or friends and always envied those there with their boyfriends/husbands!!

were getting married at disney & will there for 10 days, afterwards were heading for our honeymoon in st. lucia in a private cottage resort. im a lucky girl.

We are having a HM elsewhere too. We will arrive in Disney on the Wednesday (the 17th of May), the wedding is on Saturday the 20th and on the 21st we will fly back to Canada. On the 22nd we will fly either to Mexico or La Romana, Dominican Republic for our honeymoon. I know, lots of flying, but we actually save a lot of money that way! They charge way to much for all-inclusives leaving from the States! Honestly, if any of you want to take an all-inclusive vacation to Mexico (or somewhere near there) and don't mind flying, I would really suggest booking a cheap flight to Toronto and then taking a Sunquest or Air Transat vacations package.

Im getting married next year and would love to do a seperate honeymoon if i can afford it! Not that i dont love disney but i want sometime just the 2 of us somewhere without the risk of bumping into relatives!

We weren't planning a Disneymoon, thinking maybe Hawaii or something. The other day, DH2B mentioned going on a Disney cruise, as we just went on our first in October and got engaged...We had such a good time, and I think the 7 day will offer enough "at sea" time and still other active things to do on excursions. So I guess that will sort of count as a Disneymoon.

We are planning on a ski trip honeymoon. We are doing an Intimate wedding but will show up to WDW before the wedding to do some last minute things. Our wedding is in December and we want to do a ski trip kind of thing since I have never been skiing. How exciting.
