I think I'm gonna like this Community lark. None of yer Disney this and Disney that malarky. Honestly, I don't see why the others have to go on and on about their Disney plans just coz they're goin soon (;) )

So those of us with nowt to look forward to, what do you do for a holiday or break? B&B or Posh Hotel. Campin or Day trip?

We have a Coleman foldin camper and love to get away, mainly fer weekends. We used to 'do' holiday camps so the kids had swimmin pools and entertainment laid on but, now they're old enough to be satisfied with a pack of cards and a stroppy argument, we enjoy basic campin club meets in fields (own sanitation necessary!) - it's cheap and you get to meet real campers with likeminds.

Favourite places are Beadnell Bay in Northumberland and anywhere in the North York Moors.

We do like our Mediterranean holidays - the girls love living in the pool, Shaun loves living in the bar - I love living on the sunbed - we're all happy!!

We always go Thomson Superfamily - great facilities and the girls love the KidsClubs!!

Never been camping yet - campsite or otherwise!

I do anything, go anywhere, whenever I can. I camp, stay in youth hostels, hotels (occassionally!) and I even sleep on the beach!

Camping for us, too - although not in the lap of luxury like Spottdog and his Coleman folding camper ;)

We've got a Conway trailer tent (so quite comfy compared to our previous frame tent) and are going down to Devon at the end of July.

I have never been camping before and would really love to try the experience one day!!!

Because DH is from Turkey and my parents are originally from Cyprus we like to Visit there often to see the in laws and relatives.

As a family including my parents we love to travel - bugdet permitting ofcourse and have been to quite a few countries but our biggest indulgence apart from Disney at the moment is Cruising, last summer we went on a Southern Cariibean cruise with Royal Caribbean and thsi July we are going on a 11 night western caribbean cruise leaving from Fort Lauderdale and i can't wait!!!

HilsyMod, our first two trailer tents were Conways (after years with our trusty frame tent) and I had many hours of fun errectin the poles etc. Which is why we now have the lazyboys foldin camper. It might have been posh when it was new but it's a bit tatty now!

Dave,

After seein your attempt on errecting your Gazebo, no wonder you upgraded to a folding camper/trailer tent..:D

apart from wdw we have done the usual med holidays. But our favourite place is Kalkan in Turkey. We are going there for three weeks in June/july this year. A beautifull place with lovely people.

DId the camping malarky when the kids were young, mainly to france, where the tents are already set up for you ect. Great fun and cheap. Now the Girls no longer come on holiday with us like to have a bit more luxury.

I fly out to Barcelona where my sister picks me up and then it's off to Sitges a little town on the coast where she and her DH and two children live. It's a really lovely place, but mostly I just go to see her and her family. As the children are only 3yrs and 2yrs respectively I ALWAYS come home shattered!!!!!! LOL Carolyn:D :D

 Hi Dave :)

We used to go camping when the kids were little, we had a Relum (?) that had 3 bedrooms and a kitchen area. It was nice and great fun and we went all over the south coast, Devon, Cornwall, Isle of Wight and have some wonderful memories.

My mum and dad had their own static caravan at Dovercourt which is not too far away, and when the children were babies we always had a holiday there, and I used to go there for a couple of weeks during the school holidays too as it was close enough for Chris to come to at weekends. Mum still has the caravan and we spend the occassional weekend there now.

We have also done the Apartments scene in Benidorm, Tenerife, Lanzarote and Gran Canaria and would be happy to holiday this way again given the opportunity :) A friend phoned only last week to say that she has just bought an apartment in Spain, half an hour away from Alicante and that we can rent it whenever we want - so with flights from Stanstead for about £58 at the moment (mid week) we may take her up on her offer later in the year :)

I like to stay in Hotels, have done a lot of weekends round the UK and have had some great deals from the Internet and special offers in brochures, I am always on the look out for a bargain ;)

The hotel we stayed at in Cancun has to be the most luxurious that we have stayed in and given the opportunity of such luxury - then this is what I would prefer, but beachy holidays are just not our cup of tea, so wouldnt rush back to Cancun :)

Our holidays to Florida are not as Disney Intense as some, and I have to say that Florida is our ultimate favourite destination at the moment, and staying in a superb villa with its own pool puts the icing on the cake for us.

:) :) :) :)

Oh - went to Corfu once too! Nuff said!!!!!!

:)

Oh yes - I love camping - takes me right back to my scouting days!

Me and 3 mates once toured round the West Country for a fortnight, camping wherever we could find a spare bit of grass with a pub close by!

Well I draw the line at camping, I couldn't stand the thought of being so close to the worms and slugs!

We have tried caravans but I find the vibrations drive me up the wall, so now we use travel inns or travelodges. We like to go to Stratford upon Avon in particular and stay in the travelodge nearby.

We also love Jersey and are going this August. Unfortunately travel lodges don't exist in Jersey so we are in a B and B, not ideal, but the cheapest option (apart from camping!). ;)

Sometimes we manage to get a cheap deal in a hotel, we stayed in a Marstons hotel last year just outside Stratford, but the room wasn't as nice as the Travelodge, though they did have a swimming pool which made up for it!

Best hotel for a weekend with the kids is the Alton Towers Hotel, not cheap, but lot's of fun for them and a lovely setting (and next to the theme park of course!) :D

Skiing, as often as I possibly can! This is my great passion in life, even more so than Disney. Recently came back from a week in the French Alps, and already dreaming of when I can go again. My ski teacher said that if I was interested I could work towards the first level of a ski instructor qualification, so maybe I'll be spending a bit more time on snow that I have in the last few years!! Just wish that Disney would build an alpine resort...

Regards

Rob

YOU MEAN THERE ARE OTHER PLACES YOU CAN GO ON HOLIDAY?!!!!!!!!

Non Disney Holidays - what do you do? ..........

errr, ummmm, oohhh, I'm with Deb on this one!!

However, I did go to South Shields and Gateshead last year!!! ;) (nothing whatsover to do with Disney of course!!!)

Pre-kids it was long haul trips - the Far East and Australia etc. - ho hum, those were the days!! :)
