Non Disney Excursions on Alaska Cruise

We were looking at them but DH found Family Air tours....still waiting to hear back from them. If I don't I may go with Island Wings.....at the time I was researching I couldn't find any mention of people using either. Glad to see a mention here!

I found Island Wings while reading trip reports. She (the owner) was actually mentioned quite a bit. We were a group of 10, so she booked with another plane in order to accommodate our group.

We personally used Harv and Marv's in Juneau for whale watching in 2011 and have had local friends who have used them in years since coming home to say it was the best excursion they had (they sailed on other cruise lines than DCL). When we went, we partnered with a mom/daughter from our meet thread so there were six of us for a smaller whale-watching experience and so we'd all be on the same ship / ship-schedule rather than taking a chance that we might be on the tour with someone from a different line who might have a different schedule.

We did Ketchikan on our own - just took the local shuttle up to Creek Street for shopping and took the funicular up to the hotel for some spectacular views.

As anyone every did the whale Watching/Fishing excursion with Rum Runner in Juneau?

We used them and highly recommend.

In Ketchikan we used Ketchikan helicopters - loved it!!

Skagway booked dog sledding (on dirt track) and ziplining though same company. Absolutely loved the ziplining and can't recommend highly enough.

Saved quite a bit over DCL prices and also loved the flexibility. Have fun!

I think we used the same company! We had a blast, got to really enjoy the lines, and do flips and such because you don't have to break! I can't recommend them enough! Honestly best zip lining experience I have ever had outside of Costa Rica. (and I've been zip lining about 12 times, and this place was fabulous!)

We also went with Rum Runner's in Juneau for their combo whale watching/fishing tour. It was awesome!
