Non-Disney Cruise advice?

I need some non-disney cruise advice. I'm a disneyworld veteran but feeling lost in the cruise world. We were given a 3 day cruise out of Port Canaveral. I wish it was a Disney Cruise but alas it is not. But if I can get my husband to enjoy cruising I have a feeling my next one will be. So I'm looking for some advice.

I'm flying into Orlando the day before and going to stay over in a hotel. What's the best option for getting from the hotel to the port and then upon return from the port to the airport?

I suggest you look over the cruiseline's website for this info or over on www.cruisecritic.com.
But looking in the FAQ sticky at the top of the boards under Town Car service will give you info on private transfers and also looking at Rental Cars in the same FAQ thread will give you options there as well.

I agree with the above poster about cruisecritic, but also there are many hotels that offer a pre-cruise stay and have a shuttle to the port. I would look for one of those hotels. I believe there is a Country Inn and Suites that does this that gets great reviews. What ship will you be on? We just cruised Carnival for the first time after having only done Disney and really enjoyed it. There is a detailed review of both cruises on my website in my signature if you are interested.

Your best option is to use either the car service or rental. You can also either stay in Orloando just off the airport property or head to the port when you arrive Orlando. There is a Raddison, Country Inn Suites and Residence Inn at the Port. Also just off property at Orlando you have a choice of a Raddison, Fairmont, Embassy Renaissance, country Inn Suites or a Courtyard. Any car service can pck you up from those hotels.
