Non-Dis Photographers in MK

I know there was a post on here about professional photographers (non-dis) taking pictures in the parks, but I can't find it, or the rules. Can a Non-Dis Professional Photographer take "Honeymoon" type photos at the Magic Kingdom, as long as you are not in wedding attire?

Hi, I can't see any reason why they couldn't do this. Obviously they would need a park entry ticket though! As far as Disney is aware, you are with a friend who just happens to like taking lots of photos!

I finely found the thread I was looking for about photography rules....it looks like they just can't take professional photographs at events (i.e. park weddings, etc) So I think I'm okay if we have our Honeymoon shoot in the magic kingdom with our own photographer.

That is not what I was told by my planner. She said that no outside photographers can do pictures inside the parks whether its for a wedding, engagement pictures or honeymoon pictures. She said that she is sure people will try and sneak it but if the photographer gets caught he or she will be banned from ever taking pictures on Disney property. Something about copyright rules with their landmarks or something crazy like that.

That's what I heard as well - they have cast members watch out for people who try to do this. I'm sorry Kel!

I've also heard that professional photographers shouldn't be shooting portraits in the parks. If it's a professional on vacation, then they're probably okay because they don't depend on Disney as part of their livelihood. But for many of the regular wedding photographers out there, being banned could be devastating.

There was one couple on the boards who had engagement shots taken in MK. She ended up taking them down so as not to get the photographers in trouble.

Wow copyrighted landmarks?! I guess it's a smart move on their part so you are forced to use their photographers and spend your money with them, but it totally sucks if you love an outside photographer, which I know so many brides do.

Yeah I am sure they are losing money from all of the outside photographers but you just can't beat those outside photographers!! They take beautiful pictures. I think the whole rule is lame but I guess its what they have to do.

Thanks for the update, I did some more searching and saw that! Geeze Louise! Has anyone here had the Honeymoon Package done at the MK? We are not having an Escape/Wishes wedding, so that's the only photography package we'd qualify for.

I'm assuming that Pros can still take Honeymoon/Engagement shots at the resorts?

Lynn5700 did and her pictures were great!! I think she posted some in her PJ. If not I am sure if you PM her she could help you out.

They can still do the honeymoon engagement shots in the resorts. If you want the castle in the background you can do your shoot at the POLY or GF.

Thank you! I'm going through her PJ now...it's gonna take a few days! She has some beautiful pics on there, haven't gotten to the Honeymoon Shoot yet though!

Yes! We did engagment pix at Wilderness Lodge and the Polynesian with the Roots.
