For many years I loved Basic Edition brand of non binding socks for women sold at Kmart. I also appreciated that these socks came in extended size 10-13 as opposed to the more typical 4-10 sock size. I wear a 9 1/2 shoe and have found that the 4-10's shrivel right up pretty quickly, the larger size holds more sock life! There are no longer any Kmart stores anywhere near me, they have all gone out of business. Kmart.com has indicated for months now that these socks are unavailable. Sears never sold them (to my knowledge) though there are only a couple Sears left out here. I did look on Amazon earlier and saw some "No Nonsense" brand that looked similar--they even had the scalloped tops and had "pointelle"--not sure what that means--in the description. However they only were available in 4-10. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. Thanks so much and God Bless You.

I just bought some very basic black non-binding socks in Tuesday Morning (if you have one near year). They were unisex so had both men's/women's shoe sizes listed. I'm an 8.5 shoe and the medium size worked for me.

Otherwise, I actually order non-binding socks from Amazon. The best way to do a search is for "diabetic" socks.

I'm not a diabetic but I really hate socks that digs lines into my legs at the top and where the seams at the toe bother my feet. While the diabetic style are often a little bit on the thick side, the ones I got from Tuesday morning are thinner.

As for "pointelle" it's a form of knit that has small holes in the pattern and is kind of delicate and lace looking.

If there is a Meijer near you, they sell Hanes socks in extended sizes. I just bought some.

Checking in quickly before heading to church. Thank you all so much! Christine, thanks for explaining pointelle and your other suggestions :) ITA, no tight elastic-y socks that dig or bunchier yet small toe box. We don't have many Tuesday Mornings out here but should I come across one I'll stop in.

:) Thank you as always Luckyrabbit for your suggestion, too :)

I should have included in my original post a link showing what the Kmart socks look like: https://www.kmart.com/basic-editions-women-s-2-pairs-non-binding-socks/p-030VA68226012P?rrec=true The ones I got said 10-13 and in store had a sticker on them that said "Extended Size." It also worked well because I mostly wore the white socks out. They were also available in a 1 black, 1 gray combo pack,. I'd wear the black mostly at home (to keep the white clean) and then the gray were my pajama socks. Lol, I know this is more info than needed but they were all sure handy :)

Wishing everyone a Blessed Sunday

P.S. I am not sure whether the above link is allowed on here....since the socks are not available to order right now wasn't sure if that maybe made it okay....should we not be allowed to post links please let me know, a mod and I will remove it!
