We will have 4 days to spend in FL. after our 10/29 magic cruise.
I'm looking for suggestions on things to do that are not really an amusment park. We've been to Sea world in CA. as well as Disneyland and the wild animal park.
The top of our list right now is the Space Center and Blizzard beach if it's open.

We'll be doing the Kennedy Space Center one day ... and Discovery Cove (owned by Sea World) another day. Both would be excellend options for you.

If you are up for a real adventure. There is a sky diving place next to Kennedy Space Center. 15,000' jump and you get to see the coast line!

You can go to the Everglades and take a boat tour. It will be a completely different world than the one around Las Vegas.

We stayed in Cocoa Beach three days after one of our cruises. It was too cold to swim in the ocean (January) but the pool was heated at our on-beach resort. We went to Kennedy one day and spent the whole day there and still did not see everything they had to offer. Spent a day driving and hiking around the wildlife refuge (saw wild pigs, cougar, manatees, many water and shore birds, turtles and alligators).

Below is a trip report link for the Merrit Day, which I just reposted on the TR board, and the links which still seem to be here for the other days.

I would stay in Cocoa Beach for a few days as the previous poster said. You can do the space center, drive along the coast, enjoy the wildlife refuge and the beach, go to Ron Jon's at midnight. Plus there are several good restaurants there.

I know you said you'd been to sea world - but if you go to discovery cove (which we really liked) then you're admission to sea world is paid - so you can go there (also at sea world you can purchase (and you can purchae in advance) - what they call an "adventure express tour" which gets you a 6 hour guided tour - reserved seats at shows, go to the front of the line for rides, we got to "pet a penguin" and feed dolphins, sea lions, and rays - and didn't have to buy the food and had special spots to stand to feed the dolphins. A simple buffet lunch was included too. We thought it well worth it esp. on a very crowded day at Sea World during Easter Week.

Anyone in your party even remotely interested in NASCAR? Daytona Beach Speedway track and museum is excellent. I wasn't even into racing at the time and we spent a very enjoyable couple of hours there. After our cruise in December, we're going back and doing even more.

St. Augustine and Vilano Beach are a bit further up the coast and both nice with Vilano Beach being almost people free.

If I had 4 days in Florida with option to do "whatever" I would be in the Keys doing some snorkeling and lounging and hit the Everglades on the way down or back; or I would be in St. Augustine that is rich in history, a great walking city and has a great beach that has some beach shacks that you can just walk upto and have a burger and a beer while you are in your bathing suit..and so is everyone else. The Gulf Coast is nice too...Sarasota/Lido Beach area is nice as well, lots of neat shops and beautiful with clear blue water and white sand beaches. Too Many Options!!! ;) Hard to pick just one. Guess I am not much help :rotfl:

I agree with abitjaded (above) you really do see lots of wildlife if you go through Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge. I especially liked the manatees in the wild. It is right by the Cape. It is a drive and you can follow it and stip along the way. There is a beach near there that is nice. It is definitly a different kind of day.
