Non Alcoholic Cruise meets for grownups?

One of the things we did was anyone who wanted to take photos meet in one area and we just walked the ship together. We had so much fun.

In my experience, with the exception of the longer specialty cruises like TAs and PC, there really aren't many meets-not to say that it's always the case, but I wouldn't expect man actual meets. Mixology is more active because it's an activity run by DCL but we found that after the first day people drift away to their own families and activities unless it's a long cruise.

Well, we've been in 4 cruise meet groups. The most active ones were our 14 night WBTA, and one of our 7 night Mexican Riviera cruises. The other two were pretty active and they were both 7 night cruises, also.

Whether a cruise meet group is active, and has lots of things to do depends on the participants.

not that it's a problem for people to be drinking around us, but if alcohol is the goal, its easy to feel left out, and that is not a good temptation for some to have...

I've not been to a meetup in a bar on a Disney cruise yet that made alcohol the goal. It's just the product that is served in said bar, and the bars tend to be quieter and more private than some other areas. I've sat and had conversations with fellow group members and not had a single drink. My wife does this on a very regular basis.

Our cruise group tends to cruise together every year. Several of us always meet at Satellite Falls on the first night to hang out, have libations if so desired and just catch up on the last year's events.

Our 5-night in October was really busy, but maybe that's because it was a Halloween cruise. We had a meet, Mixology, Palo brunch and a room-to-room trick or treat organized. We had tons of people on the group and it was great. (Regrettably, the group I'm referring to was not here, but on another social media platform. The group here was pretty much nonexistent.)

Our recent 7-night had a much smaller group and it wasn't nearly as active. We did have a couple of meets and a Mixology. (Again this was another site. Again, the group here was not super active.) I think it just depends on the cruise and the unique group of people going on it.

I agree and that's why I said my experience wasn't always the case. However out of 10 cruises the only active ones we've had were the TA and PC ones. The 7-day ones had high expectations but once onboard we found everyone faded away and no one came to the breakfast or karaoke nights. I think a lot of that is a product of how dead these meet boards are now.

You can never predict how it will be on a particular cruise but I was very surprised after reading all the hype on the disboards and then getting on board and realizing that my expectations were wrong.
