We just booked our trip for April (Woohoo!) and decided to use the QS dining plan. We have 3 kids (4, 8, 9). Can they only get the standard milk/juice/water with their kids meal or can they order a specialty drink if one is available? I wasn't sure if that was only included in the adult meal or if it was also an option for the kiddos. I know my 9 year old will ask. :)

Until January comes along, we just won't know. Keep an eye on the Official 2018 dining discussion thread that is a sticky at the top of this forum. That's where most of the information should be.

Unless something changes by then, kids CAN order adult meals at QS, so at least your 8 and 9 year old could get an adult meal and then get the specialty drink, if there is one. Not all QS places have anything other than soda for the non-alcoholic version of this, so do some research with the menus. Again, keep an eye out for any changes to this non-advertised, non-sanctioned "policy." The brochure still states "kids must order from a kid's menu where available," and with the new tracking app, they may finally be finding a way to enforce that rule.

It's my understanding that if a specialty drink is available the kids can choose that. The only age stipulation was for the alcoholic drinks for 21 years and up. All the QS & TS meals could choose a specialty drink, soda, coffee, tea, etc. as part of that meal credit.

The question comes because the kid's meals at QS are bundled with a drink included. When dessert was a component of the QS meal on the DDP, kid's could not order a kid's meal and an adult dessert; they could just get the kid's meal with whatever it included. We just don't know what they will do with this in 2018. History seems to suggest, if they order a kid's meal, they will get whatever comes with the kid's meal, which is milk, juice or small soda. So, until January rolls around and we have reports back, we just don't know.

Of course, the other option is to buy adult meals for the kids (CS credits aren't separated - as of now = by adult/child) and then you don't have the problem (other than figuring out how to split everything if you're buying 1 meal for 2 people).
