Does alcohol free beer and wine come under the ‘soft drinks’ guideline?

ie can you take multiple AF beers and wine plus two wine and 6 (4)? small beers?

many thanks

lorraine

We brought several bottles of Fre wine and this did not "count" toward our room allowance.
In addition, our beverage server did not charge a corking fee (although your mileage may vary) when serving during dinner

Yes. It’s not alcohol - you are neither cutting into their profit nor getting sloshed from your drinks.

If you can carry/roll it and put it through a luggage scanner, bring what you want.

Corkage fee is also a way to keep up profits. You are not paying for the work - just the lost sale.

Your stateroom host will bring you a (edit: corkscrew) to use on the ship.

Don‘t be surprised if people question if it’s alcohol, though.

Well, it just depends I guess what the person screening you getting on the ship does. And for the record, those beverages do in fact have alcohol in them. In the case of Fre, it is only .5%, but it's there.
The grocery stores here still classify them as alcohol and you have to be 21 to buy them, and in California, just like their higher alcohol content brothers and sisters, you can't buy them at a self check checkstand.

Good to know. I would have thought alcohol free was alcohol free. That would have changed my answer.

Yes, it is confusing. Legal in California but some stores have it flagged in their checkout computers so that you have to be 21 to buy it. In California, you can't buy alcohol at self check check stands, and so you can't buy it there. Clearly not legally necessary, but stores are very gun shy about selling alcohol to those under age 21 since there is a hefty fine and they could lose their license to sell alcohol.

This explains why all the N/A beer I have on hand is less than .5%! I never paid much attention tbh but that must be why there is that line in the sand. Side note: Ritual rum alternative is also pretty good and 0.0% - it lacks the burn but is good with eggnog and in tropical drinks. I am told makes a good rum and coke too, but I'm not a soda drinker myself. :)
