noise reducing headphones?

I need a pair of noise reducing headphones for my moms birthday. Shes looking for somthing to drown out the noise my aunts daughters (very spirtied kids) make while shes trying to sleep (she sleeps listening to music) any ideas of a cheap pair?

Bose are GREAT! But waaaaaaaaaaaay expensive.

Sony makes some decent ones. I know my husband was looking at some at Sam's the other day that were $29, I think. He's on his second pair of those (left one set on the plane).

The Bose. I have tried the cheap ones and there is no comparison. The Bose are absolutely worth the money.

I got the kids version of these for my 6 year old; she's terrified of the noise of fireworks

I have a pair of Sony ones that I love. I have a hard time keeping regular ear buds in my ears so had to buy these for the simple fact that they stayed in my ears, but I just love them. They came with 3 different sized ear bud pieces so you can pick the ones that fit your ears, and block out the most noise! I think they were around $25 here in Canada at the Source and for $5 more I got a 3 year warranty for up to 3 replacements, which is a pretty good deal as I tend to lose the ear bud pieces in the bottom of my bag, etc.

I got a pair of retractable earbuds at brookstone that are majorly noise reducing. I put my ipod on lowest possible at work and still acn't hear when ppl come and try to get my attention. They were $20-25ish
