Noise from upper rooms in the Polynesian?

I have requested a 1st floor room in Hawaii during our upcoming trip mainly because my DD is afraid of heights. However, recently she seems more receptive to the 2nd or even the 3rd floor. I have three kids who seem to have very heavy footsteps (big feet too!). Has anyone who has ever stayed on the first or second floor been bothered by those above them? I really don't want to have to tell my kids the entire 10 days to "sit down" nor do I want to make someone else's trip miserable.

Just back had 1st floor #1032 in Tahiti. Heard the heavy feet from above as well as sliding door slams, but got used to it and didnt bother me after1st nite. Will get 1st floor again next time

We didnt hear any noise over us, but were woken up to a baby screaming next to us one morning.

It's been a while since we've stayed here but I know we've stayed on the 2nd floor. Didn't seem to be bothered by upper noises but the noise coming from our neighbors on the other side of the connecting door was quite annoying. (we were kidless at the time and we heard a toddler screaming every morning from 6:30am on-now that we have a dd, I'd never allow her to scream like that in our room, it's just rude)...Since then I always request rooms without a connecting door.

Noise from above wasn't an issue. Noise from hallways and through the connecting door was noticed but wasn't too bad.

We had a first floor garden view with a patio at the Poly a few years ago and were never bothered by any sounds from the room above us, or the people next to us.

We stayed second floor of Tokelau last August. No noticable noise from above us, but a lot of noise through the connecting door!!!

We stayed in Rapa Nui on the first floor in May. I don't remember hearing footsteps upstairs. It seems like I could hear water running in the bathrooms, like someone was taking a shower, or I could hear toilets flushing upstairs, but it was barely audible.

IMHO it's the luck of the draw. We have stayed in Hawaii on the second floor and heard every step the people above us made. Sometimes people are just loud, rude and let their kids play and run in the rooms. Surprisingly the only time we stayed at the All Stars in a second floor room we didn't hear a sound over us and there were people there. Go figure. We stayed at the Poly this past August in Tahati and had a third floor room. The people next store were very noisy, talked real loud and were up at the crack of dawn making way too much noise. We are night people, but try to be as quiet as we can when we come in at night. I think it really depends on who is over you or beside you. You can't predict, each vacation is different. There are a ton of rude people out there.

We stayed at the Polynesian close to 30 times and I can only remember noise from above on one trip. It wasn't a big problem but did notice it as it was unusual. Agree that you can hear water running sometimes but in my experience only if I'm already in the bathroom so it doesn't bother me. I've never heard it from the room.

A couple of years ago we did have a very loud family near us but even then we only heard them if we were out on the patio and they were too. Lots of yelling and screaming. Thankfully they only stayed a couple of nights!
