Wednesday 4th August
Had to be up early this morning for early entry for WWOHP. Wasn't difficult to wake up, noisy people in the corridor saw to that! Jumped out of bed, no drinks, no breakfast, no showers just got dressed quickly and out of there. Got to the park and joined the crowds being herded towards Harry Potter land. Didn't have to use the lockers and we hadn't got anything other than cameras with us so joined the queue for FJ which was about 20minutes long.
We had already done the other rides yesterday and also been in the sweet shop, the wand shop had a silly queue already and so we felt we could happily leave the area and it was still before 10am. The plan was to get some breakfast in the park but we kept going on rides and in shows, before we knew it it was almost lunch time so we had a pizza for lunch before heading back to the hotel and an afternoon in the pool.
Had to stop at Ashley's favourite place.
Had a look around at the exhibits in the hotel lobby.
After a few days on the coast I must have lost my organisational skills because our photos show that we called in US today but my notes don't reflect this! I can only assume it was before we went for dinner at NBA.
Came across these in a gift shop. Never a truer word was spoken!
Ashley loves basketball so was quite happy watching the huge TV screens in NBA whilte we ate. They both had a play on the arcade in the entrance for a while before we headed over to Citywalk for a quick smooch around the shops. Glen had a very nice Billabong rucksack and a new baseball hat. It was dark by now and Ashley was getting tired and bored
We walked him back to the bikes that wait at the entrance to the parks and asked one of the riders to take him back to the hotel. I was a bit nervous about letting him go but he was happy to go alone and I've got to learn to let him be more independant. Gave the rider $2 and waved Ashley off with a huge grin on his face! He had strict instructions to lock himself in the room and not to let anyone in! The rest of us went into US, Glen and John had a Ben & Jerry's ice cream while watching the fireworks. Unfortunately the waffle had only just been made and was still hot so the ice cream soon became a messy snack! We got back to the hotel and could see a light on in our room so knew Ashley must be OK but Glen went up to check on him while John and I sat by the pool as they had a live band playing. Curtains opened and we got the thumbs up from both of them so I felt a lot more relaxed.
