we are leaving 5/20 and I never purchased Q& C vouchers. :( :bounce: :( Do you think I masde a mistake ? We never eat full big meals with dessert, we are all quite fluffy. But, of course now, at the last minute I have having second thoughts. Anyone have any good cheap meal ideas from the park menus so I won't be so FREAKED OUT ?!?!:bounce: :Pinkbounc  :bounce: :Pinkbounc

THANKS TO ALL

If you don't eat a big meal and dessert, your saving money not buying vouchers. Most counterserve restaurants charge less than the cost of a voucher for a combo meal and drink.

A lot of people will split a voucher. DH & I very seldom eat dessert so even with spliting we wouldn't get "our monies worth". I do buy the vouchers for our teen DSs though. They more than get their "monies worth". lol!

You will survive.
Many times, we just order an appetizer and one entree to share between my DH and I. There are so many snacky type things to try that it's a waste to fill up at every meal.

Don't worry--you may find you don't miss them at all!

In all of our trips, we have never purchased vouchers, and things have been just fine.

We used the Quick and Casual vouchers last December, we didn't feel that we were saving much money(if any at all) on most of the meals. Once is awhile we would save 2 or 3 dollars. Not really worth the effort. I had to listen to my wife and kids joke about all the money I saved on the vouchers(NOT). For one thing we don't normally order dessert with our meals unless we're eating at a buffet.

yep, just dont order the appetizers and split your meals and desserts.

i told my hisband next time we eat the yatchman steak house we are splitting our meal, and the waitress even agreed. she said it was more common then people think.::yes::

I have had an unused voucher "burning a hole" in my fanny pack since December. I believe it expires at the end of this month.

Since I don't see myself back in the world until Thanksgiving 2005, the voucher is yours for free if you want it!!

Just IM me your address, or e-mail it to dguiltinan@yahoo.com, and I'll send it!!!!

How's that for a tip on how to save money!

Have a great trip, Dave

DGuiltinan if you get no responce i will be glad to help you out, i leave monday though, may 24th.

<EDIT> Forgot I was on Forever42's screen name. This really is Gariig and I need my computer fixed.</EDIT>

The vouchers are a mixed bag. If you know where to go you can "save" a LOT of money. DGF and I went to Beaches and Cream (the review is somewhere out there and pictures at www.wdwfood.com) and got $50 of food for $22. However, most other counter service places you will get a free desert out of the meal. It's nice to split a voucher and get a lot of different food but not walk away over stuffed. But if you haven't bough a voucher don't worry and go eat at a lot of sit down resteraunts :)

...except she asked for cheap meal ideas. Sit down does not exactly equal cheap at Disney. :)

You can share a lot of the different counter service meals, though, or add an extra side.

Pecos Bill's is one place that really comes to mind, as do any of the places that have extensive toppings bars.

And don't forget Trail's End!

The only place I'll use QnC vouchers is Beaches n Cream. After looking over menus, the vouchers won't save me money at any counter service place in the parks. Then there are the vouchers
for b-fast, and those saved money for adults only at character meals. We paid for the kids when we got there, and used vouchers for the adults, because that saved a few bucks.

If they're still running it, a good deal is the AK meal voucher that you buy at the park. It's good that day only and gets you a full meal with coupons for ice cream (or popcorn?) and a bottled drink later.

A bowl of soup at CRT is a deal at $4.00, and it's huge. That's perfect for a cool day.

Menus can be found at www.allearsnet.com

I have never heard back, so, WDWStar, I am waiting to hear from you. IM or EMail me ASAP, and I'll get the voucher in the mail. I have confirmed that it expires on May 31.

Thanks, but I want nothing in trade or in return. I am happy to help out a fellow DIS member!!

DGuiltinan: If you don't hear back from wdwstar in time to get it to him/her I will be leaving on 5/29. Just pm me if you still have it. What a nice thing to do.:D
