No Turning Back

This trip started with an idea (all great things do) to take DD for our first Mother Daughter trip. This goal is to feed our addictions and to bond in a more adult matter. You see she turned 18 this year and graduated from high school. She was also planning on moving out after school. We first started to plan trip around Christmas or early part of the year and call it a birthday trip, as her birthday is in January. Right before making reservation my Aunt got the news she had cancer and they didn’t give much hope. Well as much as we love Disney family does come first. So I put our plans on hold and made a trip to see my Aunt. It was a long over due trip. When I got home to get excited about trip ordered my free planning video. The video arrived the day she passed. We had our ups and downs with planning this trip But everything is paid for (been two weeks now) so no turning back.

Let me introduce myself . First I’m not a writer. It has been a long time since school. Please put up with my run on sentences and my paragraphs aren’t really there. I just break when my thoughts change. I kind of ramble.

My name is Sandy. I do customer service currently I commute 40 mins a day to and from work. Soon I will be able to work from home. Can’t wait. I have three kids. Two boys and a girl, ages 21,19, and 18. The 18 is the girl. We have all been to WDW once back in 08. As a result DD and myself have become Disney Crazy. Driving the rest the family nuts. We see and point out Mickey Heads everywhere, can get Disney in almost every conversation….you know the type.

Today marks 50 days before we leave, so I figured it was time to start this ptr. My main reason is to figure out how to post pics.

As for planning, my daughter doesn’t want the trip to feel like a schedule but understands we can’t go without some sort of plan. We have our ADRS made, hours of parks, and list of what we want to do.

Do need to get dinner going. So will leave you hanging for the when, where, and how.

Thanks for taking a peak, See ya real soon

Oops see color and font not showing up. Umm will have to work on it.

Reason I'm back so soon I forgot to mention the most important part of the family. My wonderfull hubby. We have been together for 23 years. I wouldnt be the person I am today without him.

Now to see if color, size, and font work.

When: Sept 14-21,2011
We are flying this trip. My dh doesn’t fly so this will be my dd’s first time. I got us window seats. Will be fun to see her reaction.

Where: Duh WDW. No seriously we will be staying at POP. Hoping to get lady and tramp building. DD had this picked out way before I was ready. When free dining was released I toyed with the idea of upgrading. Decided to stay here due to I want to visit each resort at some point. That and I hear a lot of good reviews. Not to mention want to try the cheesecake.

How: We have seven day pass with park hopper. This way we hit one park in morning, take a break if we have to, then a new park in evening.

Next post will have ADRS. I was mean with this one will have to wait to find out how.

I am sorry to hear about your Aunt. It is hard to know how to react when planning a trip when you've lost a loved one (I lost my dad exactly one week before we left for our 25th wedding anniversary trip).

The plans for you and your daughter sound great thus far.:thumbsup2

Yay you started a PTR!! :cool1:

I'm also sorry to hear about your aunt but am glad you and your daughter are taking this trip.

To insert pics I use photobucket and copy the image code (normally the bottom one) and paste in my text. Also I change the font and size using the buttons at the top. Hope this helps :goodvibes

Payed our final payment.....30 days till Maui and 37 more days till Kauai.

Was never so happy to make a payment , but this is one that I was more than happy to complete it makes everything real.

Now comes the hard part called Pack and Wait.

I know making that last payment is exciting. I even tried to bring my dd with me. She will go when I pick up out package, decided I didn't want ta mailing it. And yes now time to pack and wait, but you forgot shop. Just told dh that now that trip is paid I need new shorts, I got fatter over the last three years so mine don't fit. Don't need shirts I got plenty of disney tshirts. I pick those up any time I see one on clearence.

Where to eat? As DD and me where figuring this out my DH came up and asked if I wanted to watch a movie with him. I gave him a really look but asked what movie. He had Toy Story 3 all set up. I was like sure. (DH doesn’t do Disney movies) My DD, had watched it the day before, passed so I left her to look threw planning books and allears.net to pick out six places for us to eat at. After movie (my favorite right now) she had made a few choices that she was set we were eating at. So we sat and came up with the rest. At this time our 180 days had past so I got on computer and made our ADRS. And made all her wishes booked. Now like all Disers they have changed a lot the last few months. I don’t even remember them all. My last change was a week or so ago. I have promised not to make any more changes to these. But we will have to wait and see if I keep that promise. So here they are.

Day one: (arrival day) Tony’s Town Square
Now I have heard more bad reviews then good on the boards, but DD loves Lady and the Tramp. So this one will stay. Thinking of trying either the chicken parmigina or the lasugna. For dessert either cheese cake, tiramisa, or lemon walnut layer cake. Will get daughter their punch, might get me one two. I saw the recipe somewhere and it sounds good.

Day two: Sci Fi Dine-in
DD has wanted to do this back in 08 and new this was this was a must do this trip. We love onion rings so will start with them and shakes. Can’t decided if I want to try the ribs or play it safe and do a burger. And that peanut butter- chocolate cake sounds real good.

Day 3: Garden Grill
DD thinks this sound cool. How can I argue with having dinner with Chip and Dale. Sounds like a good choice of food, and like that it is family style. Don’t care much for getting up for seconds.

Day 4: Yak and Yeti
Am thinking will do the tempura shrimp and fried wontons. I do wish AK had more choices.

Day 5: Roglan Road
This one keeps coming and going. I really want to try their Fish and Chips. Has anyone had their Dunbrody Kiss? Besides chocolate what is it?

Day 6: Planet Hollywood
I have no idea how this one happen, but it doesn’t seem to change. The ribs here sound good, along with the crab cakes. And if I’m reading menu correct we get one dessert to share? We don’t share dessert well.

Day 7: 1900 Park Fare
This is our only breakfest. And is schedule late morning. DD and myself don’t eat much breakfast. I think DD pick this to see Mad Hatter.

So this is were we are eating (at least for now lol). Personal reviews are welcome or I wouldn’t be doing a ptr.
I don’t know when next update will be. Not to much computer time this weekend, and next week begins busy. But I promise to return. Have a great weekend all.
See ya all real soon!

Tanz sorry I didn't even look at your name this morning when I posted. Thanks for joining in. Will try not to use to many of your ideas in my report.

Great ADR choices!! :thumbsup2 Apart from 1900 Park Fare we are not eating at any of the other places so can't wait to hear your opinions on the meals.

Hope you have a great weekend :goodvibes Btw feel free to use any of my ideas.

I feel like I left you all hanging. Im still checking the boards just not on my comp. Im with my DH on the road. When I get home will find some pics to post. Also making my must do list, and hubby is adding what he wants on list for our trip in 2014. Ok doing this on phone is hard. Will see ya all soon when im back home.

I'm watching for your report! Sounds like fun.

Hi welcome. I had to go look at your ptr. One more on my list to read. Must be exciting planning both the first trip for your son and surprise him. Cant wait to read more. Need to finish my next post here first. Goal is to post something everyday.

A bit of trivia first.
Tinker Bell took her first flight during the fireworks show on July 4, 1985.
Just something to think about when watching Wishes. I could never do it, scared of heights. Anyone reading this ever wish they could fly from castle being Tink?

This is my list, been asking DD to come up with her list but not sure she will. Early on we went threw rides and shows and most everything was the same. The goal is to do what we can and cross it off. What is left at end of trip will start next times list.

The first park will be Magic Kingdom. We will hit this park right after we get settled at POP. Made ADR late in evening so we have time to relax , shower, maybe swim before getting to park. Honestly besides shower and changing cloths will be here soon after arrival.

The first thing we have to do at park is IASW. This is a must for DD. Back in 08 this was the first ride for all my kids. This is what makes DD feel like she is back at WDW. Here is rest of list. Starting with fantasy land only cause that’s is the area we start in.

So again in no order:

Dumbo
Mad Tea Party
Adventures of Winnie the Pooh ( I want to go kids side on queue anyone have a child I can borrow)
Mickey’s Philhar Magic
Peter Pan (in DL this one was my favorite)
Snow White (hope its still open)

Jungle Cruise (saving for evening)
Enchanted Tiki Room (another favorite from DL)
Pirates of the Caribbean
Big Thunder mountain
Splash Mountain (DH favorite)
Haunted Mansion (now somewhere I read that this one might now be open. Anyone know if it will also be
Down?)
Buzz Lightyear
Space Mountain (ds favorite)

Wouoldn’t be right not to watch Wishes and Main Street Electrical Parade.
Hoping to see Wishes while having dinner the first night at Tony’s. But if not that will be ok to.
For MSEP this was the parade I remember growing up with in DL will be nice to see it again and share it with DD.

Now to try this Pic thing again. Hopefull can get it smaller.

Yay on having success with the picture uploading! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to visit MK! I would love to be Tink. I also hope Snow White is still running in Sept and did not hear anything about Haunted Mansion being down. I sure hope not esp with it being Halloween time.

:cheer2:I know about haunted massion would be a really bad time not to be open. Like I said only read it one place so hopefully wrong information. Were getting so close. I'm down to 41 days. :cheer2:

Epcot takes up 300 acres, almost three times the size of Magic Kingdom.

With that amount of space, add in all the shopping, plus do some rides will have to make a few trips to this wonderland. Oh and DD wants to have time to stop and watch all the streets acts. Well not all but most, last time we didn’t really stop and watch any. So again this is my list will make changes if needed when DD makes hers.

O’Canada
Off Kilter
Impressions de France
Matsuriza Taiko Drummers
Miyuki- animal shaped lollypops
America Adventures
Spirit of America
Voices of Liberty
Sergio Jugglers
Reflection of China
Maelstom
Grand Fiesta Tour

Spaceship Earth
Soarin
Mission Space
Innovations

I know a lot to do for America don’t plan on doing all. Will pick one maybe two this trip depending on times.
And can’t forget to end one night or two with Illumiations.
