No towel animals at POP!

In all of our visits (see the signature) we have recieved one, at POFQ, our least favorite resort and our least favorite stay. I have to agree, I'd rather have a clean room than a towel animal! THis is the bunny we received, and left there:

There was a towel animal in our room at Pop when we arrived...all the rooms in our section had them in the windows. We didn't get any more.

oooh i saw your window. i think you were a few rooms down from us, ground floor, facing the lake? we had a towel animal sitting in our window the day we checked in, then we got another one the next day, but no more after that during the 2 weeks.

Yep, that was us. That was a great location. I can't believe that is considered a standard room. Unless we got lucky and it was preferred, but we paid for standard.

Towel animals are not a given and not a part of your Disney vacation package. These are Disney magic perks that everybody has come to expect.

In all my trips to Disney I have never had a towel animal....and I do not care. I am glad my rooms are always clean. ;)

Seriously? I'll have to check my paperwork. I could have sworn that towel animals were part of my Disney vacation package....... I might have to rethink my Bounceback booking for next year! :rotfl:

I didn't know that a towel animal question would be such a debate! Maybe I should feel guilty about asking Mousekeeping for an extra shampoo!

:rotfl: You mean they GAVE you more shampoo??????? Iactually had to write mousekeeping at the CR a letter and ask for every refill/replacement I needed, definitely not like previous visits! And I NEVER got a shower cap the entire visit. (foot stamp!)

Seriously, you will find towel animals, along with pool hopping and refillable mugs are hot topics around here. Glad you didn't let it keep you from having a great time. And think of it this way: you now have a reason to plan your next visit! :)

We had one on arrival and then never got another. I thought our mousekeeper did a good job cleaning though. We did have the flower looking towels around our sink area though too. It was nice to get, but I wasn't coming back each night hoping for a new one. LOL! Ny DD2 could've cared less. Now if she was older, she might have liked it.

Just Imagine:

The nerve of the mousekeepers for not giving you a towel animal and just think how many thousands you spent on your vacation and were rightfully entitled to one....

Of course, some people really DO feel that way!

Yep, our window was decorated for Halloween. Here's a pic :)

OMGoodness! That is sweet! I never thought to do that, wish I had thought of it myself.

BTW, we've only gotten one in all our time too that I can remember, and that was a lOOOOng time ago at ASMu. We've gotten the flowers with the toothbrushes and stuff like that, but I just never think about it. My kids are getting older and don't buy too many plushes anymore so they don't get them placed all cute and cuddly and stuff, they're more into the pins, hats, tshirts and dd is into anything she can get her hands on in France or the Virgin Record Store! lol

Glad you had a great trip, we did too and although I am beat, I am still reading these boards, I miss Disney already. I wish I could stay 2 or 3 weeks like some of you people, I must say I'm jealous :)

I know, I miss it already too. We were there only 7 days. Maybe our next trip we should stay longer. Although, I'm always soooo exhausted afterwards. And I know I won't build in any rest days even though I should!

Funny you should say that 7 days is not enough. DH just said the same thing and said next time we should stay at least 10 days!:cool1:

We had a towel animal in our window when we arrived. In fact every window in our building seemed to have at least one in the window.

One day in the lobby of the Pop they were making towel animals for guest. There was no cost involved. You could get as many as you were willing to stand in line for!

I think they are fun and we also asked if we were permitted to keep the one in our room and housekeeping said yes definitely! :cool1:

Of all of the trips listed in my siggy below, we have only received towel animals twice...both at POR. I think it's just luck of the draw, but people here on the DIS think that it is much more prevalent due to the number of people here who post about them. We only read about the people who do get them...not the thousands of DIS-ers who don't. ;)

But you've got one cute towel animal in your signature! What a cutie!!

We were at Pop week before last and had one in our window when we checked in, got a different one the next day. We've gotten them before at Pop. We don't usually tip. We had great service this trip.

The problem with 'towel animals' is that people seem to judge the quality of the room/stay with this in mind. Can you imagine what WDW would be like if there was never another 'towel animal' found onsite? When someone says they didn't 'get' one, or asks did someone else 'get' one...it implys you expect to recieve one, because if it truely did not matter if you 'got' one...you'd never mention it in the first place :rolleyes1 By saying 'not that I wanted a towel animal' or 'it really doesn't matter to me....' tells everyone that you've been thinking about it, wondering about it, and want to compare the treatment others recieved compared to the treatment you recieved. Truely the petiest subject/debate/threads on the DIS are about 'towel animals' :sad2:
P.S. Are there parents who actually make "towel animals" for their children at home so the kids will feel special when their not at WDW?

People actually take their "animals" home with them and bring them back on return trips????

Wow!

I have stayed at both moderates and deluxes for 9 and 10 day stays 5 times over the course of the past 4 years and I have not once recieved a towel animal. and yes we do tip and we also keep our room quite tidy in the meanwhile. Towel animals are not a right. They are a nicety.:thumbsup2

No duh!!! I would wonder the same thing as the op. I know it would tickle my daughter to see one waiting for her...just a little extra magic. What's wrong with wondering if there could possibly be a reason for not getting one during a 7 day stay?! That doesn't equate it to being a feeling of entitlement for pete's sake. We received 2 almost every night during our Carnival cruise and it really did add a special touch that I never even expected, but we all thoroughly enjoyed.
