Does that include the CMs who staff the lounge ? Does it mean only the ones at the concierge desk? We are staying at BC CL next week and I dont want to commit a faux pas!

No tipping allowed, even for the lounge staff. They will refuse it and state it isn't allowed - at least 2 of ours did. I think you are allowed to leave them a gift under a certain value......however, they SO appreciated the positive praise we told them we would send to management...

I read on this site that the concierge are not allowed money tipping and could accept small gifts and gift cards. I emailed BC CL IPO and I was told they could not take anything and it was their pleasure to serve. Should I get a few gift cards just in case? Do not want to pack presents - may not have room. Anyone ever give them $5 gift cards?

Our family will arrive next week also at BC CL. We are a group of 3 families(6 adults and 5 children). I am the "Grammy". I guess we are not suppose to tip as I was advised. Just seems wrong especially if we receive the service everyone says CL gives. I know the IPO team was great with planning and answering questions and especially helping my son-in-law set up "Disney Experience".

Maybe we will meet in the lounge.

As another poster said no tipping allowed. It is a shame as they are hard working. Email Disney telling them how much you appreciate the service you received & by who.

Gift card are the same as money so they can't be accepted.

If the CM really helps you out, why not just write a letter telling of the great service they gave you? Ultimately, that is the best reward.

And thank them for helping you.

Tipped positions are Bell Services, Parking Valets, Table Servers.

:thumbsup2 I totally agree -- write a letter -- it goes into their personnel file at Disney. It's a much nicer gift than a tip.

It's really not a shame that they can't accept tips -- you pay plenty for CL -- and the CL staff are paid well by Disney -- I personally wouldn't want to have to tip everyone there. (And I'm averse to tipping the positions listed above and even housekeeping). It's just that you are paying for a premium service and shouldn't have to take money up to the lounge or feel the need to constantly tip every time you have a request. And this isn't just at Disney -- we've stayed concierge all over the US and overseas and never seen money being handed around.:confused3
