I dont know if this was the case the entire week last/this week but, we saw Wishes three times between Friday night and Monday night and while the weather was BEAUTIFUL, with minimal breez if any at all, there was NO tink flight during Wishes.

Any info?

Maybe Tink ate one too many desserts! A CM told me that she gets weighed every night just before she flies, after she has all her "gear" on. If she exceeds the weight limit at all-no flight! Also, at DL, the harness for her is very tempramental. One night, she was "flying" down the wire and the harness got stuck. So that the guests wouldn't see, they turned out all the lights, then had to try to get her down in the dark! DS was a CM in DL and said that there were lots of nights she couldn't fly because of that harness acting up.

I can definately see the logic in that answer.

I also figured, what if she calls in sick? I mean that's the type of job that you don't exactly have multiple back-ups for. I woulnd't be surprised if they had "a" backup but it wouldnt surprise me at all if they didn't. You figure if you are a backup, you'd have to still get daily practice in to reduce the liability and the pay for that type of liability is probably pretty high.

I dont know, but I figured along with whatever the reason may have been, if she calls in sick they likely go without a tink at all.

Actually I know they have at least 3, who alternate, although they don't get equal amounts of time. Also, they usually have "day jobs" with Disney, which I didn't know. The choreographer for DS's musical group at DL was the "third" Tinkerbell, which means she got to do it about once every week or less.

I want to be tinkerbell!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc

We were there the 10-17 of this month and we saw Tink fly twice...

It doesn't always happen - which is why I make it a policy to not tell anyone I'm bringing to Wishes for the first time about it. If she doesn't show, they are disapointed - that way, if she does, it's a wonderful surprise.

this seems to be happening more often lately, ive been there dozens of times and only once did she not fly and there was a thunder storm that night.
I too wonder whats up with tink, Too many mickey bars perhaps:)

We were there from 9/10 - 9/17 and she flew all 3 times that we watched. 9/12, 9/14, and 9/16 I think.

Sometimes it may seem like the weather is fine but thats on the ground. They also monitor the winds up in the sky. Winds are always higher as you go up.

While this is true, we go to Disney on a regular, monthly basis and the ONLY time where previously she had not flown, it was an obvious weather situation. Whether it was currently raining, previously rained, windy, etc. You are right but Im saying with as much as I've seen it, everytime before that she's not come out, it's been a pretty obvious reason.

We took the keys to the kingdom tour last week and our guide told us that tink has to be about 90 pounds and if the winds are more than 10 miles an hour she can not fly.

It was pretty windy last Monday (9/19) and yes she did not fly. She did fly on the 22nd and it was not very wind.
