It's been posted on another foum group that that will be no Tarzan Encounter this year. Apparently it was officially announced to Cast Members this week.

I used to enjoy watching this show in the summer and I think it leaves a big gap in park entertainment now it is not running. I wonder if DLP has plans for the The Chaparral Theater?

Strange as only a couple of weeks ago they were advertising for CM's

I was so looking forward to it after seeing this

Official Facebook statement
"Hello,
Many of you are wondering about the fate of the show Tarzan Encounter for summer 2013. The show premiered in 2000 is seasonal and timely representation in recent years. Recognizing the commitment of fans for this great show, we discussed the possibility of a return in 2013, but have chosen to focus on the extension of the 20th Anniversary, including a daily representation of Disney Dreams! until the end of September, which will include two new sequences which we will discuss shortly! Thank you, team Disneyland Paris."

Hasn't gone down too well on DCP forum !

It does seem very strange to start the whole auditon process only to cancel the show. :confused3

Hope everybody still thinks Dreams is worth all these cuts :headache:

We aren't renewing this year - when you go as often as we do you really notice the lack of entertainment, characters wandering about, shows, breakdowns etc etc

Dreams is nice but I don't stay to watch it anymore.

I've written an email too :thumbsup2

:worried::scared1::sad:

That's a very sad thing to read, but I can completely understand why. We only come once or twice a year and we can already notice the cut-backs from one trip to another, so it must be 10x worse when you are a regular visitor.

I do still absolutely love dreams, but If they can't afford to add this show AND keep up the other magic (mainly the shows!) then it somehow loses its sparkle.

That's not to say I'm not looking forward to my March trip, I REALLY am and there wouldn't have been any shows on then anyway - but it does just leave a slight sour taste in my mouth!

I haven't seen Dreams so I'm glad they're continuing it and really hoping that I'm wowed by it, but I am wondering "at what cost" :(

I feel that I'm paying an awful lot of money for our July trip and I know that we'll benefit from the longer hours, but I am slightly worried that we'll find enough to do to fill the days.
I have 5 days park tickets for a 7 day trip, planning 2 Paris day trips, another day trip to the Big Cat Sanctuary, that still leaves us with an awful lot of free park time :worried:

I am very tempted to contact them myself, just to add my disapppointment to the list.

You could always go to Provins with the bus from DLP that's a nice trip out :goodvibes

No what gets me is the year before the 20th we had all those great activities going on - Follow the leader with PP, new character meets etc- with the Magical Moments Festival

There was shows on the Central Plaza - ok it looks great now but why can't we have shows on the Castle stage all year round ?

The character lunch/tea party was moved and has now gone completely.

There is still nothing besides Father Christmas at the set behind CC Bbq where before you had meet and greets.

No MMWW last year and no Tarzan this year so the theatre will be left - all that area is completly desserted.

No Fantillusion, no MNSSHP last year and afaik not this year either

All this for one 20 minute show .... wait until you start reading about the 25€ interactive ears that are being sold for Dreams and their VIP space :rotfl:

So am I right in thinking there is no daily show on the castle stage anymore? Can't believe it! I thought that was just part of the whole Disney thing? We have always seen the show on the stage when we have visited. It didn't even cross my mind that it wouldn't be on because of dreams or cut backs etc.

Am so disappointed :(

No show :( Here is this weeks program with a couple of meet and greet, the character train, the parade and Dreams...

No live shows in peak season? That's awful. We have been going in July for I don't know how many years but have not booked it for this year yet and now I think we probably won't bother. We really missed the MMWW show at Christmas but at least the decorations made up for it. I can't see any compensating factor for this so we will give the summer crowds a miss this year.

It's really very sad, especially, as we were all so hopeful that things were looking up when the Walt Disney Co. stepped in last year.

Our first trip was early March 2004 - low season, we had the Wonderful World of Disney Parade and Fantillusion, Lion King show, I watched a little bit of a cowboy show on the rooves of Frontierland, Mickeys Winter Wonderland show, there was so much going on, we didn't have time for Le Visionarium and didn't even make it into WDS, came home and booked another trip straight away.

and I've just been looking at the character meal options, what happened there? the Plaza Garden Tea Party, the Birthday Tea, Lucky Nugget all gone :(

@ Carrie - I'm really hoping for a good offer so we can upgrade to a hotel with a pool, so we can spend the mornings at the pool and just do afternoon/evenings in the parks but I'm open to any suggestions for days out :)
