No Stick Pans

When it comes to pans I've generally been skeptical of those with a nonstick "coating". Guess it's justified?
There are some decent ones out there. But they're all going to need a bit of oil or butter or some sort of fat to make it work and all will become hard to clean. Some faster than others. In the cheaper price range, T-fal is the best. Though there were much better performers in a higher price range, I didn't feel paying that much for something that was going to last an extra month or so over the T-Fal to be within a normal budget.

You can have my cast iron pans when you pry them from my cold dead fingers.

You won't have anything stick in a properly seasoned and maintained cast iron. It's all I have.
Yes - this!! After purchasing a cast iron skillet a few years ago and realized how nothing sticks in it once it's seasoned, I got rid of my non-stick frying pans. I have since bought several in different sizes!

I have never baked anything on a baking sheet without foil or parchment, I don’t get why someone would?

I've never lined my pan with foil. I will sometimes put parchment, but very rarely.

For baking sheets - I bought a pack of Nordic Gold ones at Costco a couple months ago and they are the best ones I've ever had. Nothing seems to stick to them. Best $20 I've spent in a long time.

After my non-stick pans started having everything stick I learned you aren't supposed to use non-stick cooking spray in them, apparently it builds up.

who knew, you trp to help your non stick pan out, then he does this to you

My nonstick frying pans and saucepans are made by Cuisinart and T-Fal. I use only butter or oil and nothing ever sticks. I have found that Cuisinart makes the best nonstick pans. I use nonstick foil on my cookie sheet and in my roaster. When I see the commercials where they fry an egg with nothing in the pan and I wonder who would want an egg that isn't fried with a little butter.

you make me hungry

Cast iron...can you use these with an electric glass top stove?

Don't smash it down or slide it around. That is the issue and why everyone thinks it is not possible. Used the cast iron all the time on the glass top. Even the wife, who was probably the worst person I've ever seen for taking care when doing something, never broke it.
