No Std Rms WL week after Tgiving

Just in case anyone has been thinking about WL the week after Thanksgiving I was finally able to make my reservations this morning for Nov 27 to Dec 3. I'd been debating on paying for woods view or just booking standard and being happy if I was upgraded but Disney made the decision for me by saying there are no standard view rooms available for that time. :::crossing my fingers for a general code:::::

I booked rack rate with the MYW package with dining but if a code comes out that I can't get with the package that will save me more than what I figure the dining package will I'll just switch to a room only. I really like the idea of having our meals paid for ahead of time but not enough to give up a good discount to do it. LOL I'm getting a little worried about the crowd level that week too. I never dreamt I'd have a problem getting standard view 8 months out for that week. Oh well, if it's busy maybe they'll extend the park hours. I can deal with crowds as long as I'm not dealing with heat on top of it!

I have noticed this too. We were considering WL anytime between 11/19 and 12/5 and could not find any rooms. I have checked many times and only ONE time, I came up with a deluxe room available! What Gives? I would assume that 11/24 through 11/27 would be crowded, but not before and the week after too! I am getting nervous. I thought I was doing good by booking the week after T-week..........but I guess a lot of other people have the same idea! I eventually booked other resorts anyway, without waiting for WL to open up in fear that my other choices would be gone too! BTW........I was booking stricktly rack rates, so they were not just out of the discounted rooms.

WL stays booked throughout the month of Dec. We stayed the week after T-day last year and it was booked to capacity. If you get a reservation, hang on to it. It is one of the most popular resorts for Christmas decorations.

It may be beautiful, but I'm not sure I want to stay here at rack rate

Last year we snagged a room with a pin code-woodsview for $123. (approx.) per night!! I'd love to do it again, but from the sounds of it, that's not likely!

I was looking at WL for April 17-20 and was told I could only get rack rate. CL for a FL resident was cheaper. I got it for AKL instead. Is it possible they are doing something at WL that is taking up rooms or are they just trying to get people to try other resorts. I have called back a few times to see if anyone else opened up and everytime they tell me AKL is available.

Pop Warner starts around the Dec. 5th week so people might be coming a few days early for that maybe that's why you can't get a standard room. I don't know besides that. We're going Dec. 9-16th staying (hopefully at WL) I hope to get a room!

weluvpluto, we have stayed at WL each Dec. for the last 6 years or so and have always gotten an AP room only rate. These stays were not over Christmas.

About two or three years ago, in early Feb., we couldn't get a room of any kind at the WL at any price. We made reservations at the GF with the AP rate. A couple of weeks before our trip, on a whim, I phoned CRO to see if any rooms were available at the WL. Rooms were not only available, but we got the AP room discount. I mentioned it to the front desk person while checking in and was told a large Japanese tour group had booked over 1/2 of the hotel for this period. Some cancellations were made and the rooms became available. The WL was full of Japanese guest that week.

Well I am glad you at least got a room. Nice to know you did the package. We too are thinking of doing the package but for the next week...yes Pop Warner week. I too thought having the dining paid for would be nice before leaving.
