Does Disney ever remove and then re-release rooms? Two weeks ago, plain standard view rooms were available. Now garden view is cheapest available for first two weeks of Sept. 2019. Do they really go that fast? Even Undercover tourist had no standard views.

Rooms seem to be going extra fast for 2019 for some reason. Maybe because of the opening of Star Wars Land in the fall. I suggest you book as soon as you can.

I used to always book my flight first, but I guess times have changed. Maybe everyone is booking early to beat ticket price increase.

IMHO, the BB offer may have made a bit of an impact.
It is difficult to know how many rooms are offered at the BB rate.
Just a guess.....the POR is offered in Sept for the BB offer but not always for the rest of the Fall season.
This is surprising though.... :flower1:

I’ve noticed much lower availability in standard view rooms too. Hopefully more will come up at some point should people cancel. I’m happy to just book a garden view if not though!

Room inventory is really fluid. I've checked dates one week and have seen no standard rooms, then checked a week later and poof there were standard rooms. Also, I would compare the Disney rack rate for a standard room to booking a different category with UT. We found booking a garden room with UT was less expensive than the standard room rack rate. I believe it was a savings of $18/night.

I suspect it also has to do with the increased number of room categories. It seems every popular "request" becomes a bookable category. I don't blame Disney, they can make an extra buck. In POR's case, now there are standard view 5th sleepers (AB). I'm sure they have allocated quite a bit of inventory to that, as it was easily available during our trip.

Many groups and conventions also block out standard rooms at many of the resorts when they sign contracts with the WDW groups dept. which may be causing lack of availability during your travel dates. If those rooms go unbooked, you may find availability closer to your travel dates.
