I was just on Disney's website to get a quote for a trip at the end of next September and to stay at the Wilderness Lodge. When I put in the dates, it only shows Courtyard or Standard on the Club level. I put in some other days in September and got the same thing. Are they still rehabing the rooms at the WL?? Why would no standard view rooms be available?

When I put in the same dates at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, it shows all levels of rooms. I can get a pool view for $421 less than a courtyard view at the Wilderness Lodge. I really want to stay at the WL, but why no standard rooms?

I'm checking daily, and find the same thing. I want to change my free dining for the end of next September from POR to WL standard room, or Woods and there is nothing? I wonder if they are holding back on some rooms and will release them at a later date? As far as I know all the room are renovated so it is not that.

All the rooms have been renovated and are open for use. They were still doing a little work on the outside but that wouldn't affect rooms. It may be that the WL standard view has become so popular that most get snatched right up. We have a WL wood view for end of Sept/first of October with free dining. In March we had woods view and ended up with a courtyard view.

Woods view is also not an option. :sad2: All I get is Standard on the Club level or Courtyard. :confused3

I also tried the Villas at the Wilderness Lodge for the same dates and nothing is available.

Have you tried calling instead of going through the web site? It might be more accurate.

We are also looking for standard view rooms at WL for next year over Labor Day Weekend (Aug 30-Sept 3). We were lucky enough to get a standard view room with free dining this year (just returned on Tuesday), but no such luck when booking the bounceback offer for next year. Right now, we have two woods view rooms reserved. Still, I will keep checking online for openings. It worked for us this year as I was able to secure a standard view room in late June. So definitely keep trying!

:thumbsup2

I'll keep trying. Would reallly like a woods view room, but a standard is fine too. Should I book a courtyard now and hope a standard or a woods view opens up or should I wait a bit longer to book?

It's a little early for VWL to come up. I find they wait until about 7-8 months out to release those rooms for booking. Same thing with BWV and BCV. I'm guessing they don't have booking issues at OKW or SSR, because those show up all the way through to December.

If I book a courtyard view room package with AAA now and then notice woods or standard rooms become available, can AAA make this change in room category, especially since the price would go down? Should I go ahead and book now or wait it out a little longer?

Can I downgrade a room level at the WL if I book now with AAA? Can AAA make that type of change?

Can't comment on AA as I don't have it. I will share with ou that I almost had to argue with the CM at CRO last week when I called to book WL for January. She kept quoting ONLY woodsview and Courtyard and the price difference made me catch it. Finally, she "mysteriously" found that yes, there was "standard".

As one who has had the farthest Courtyard room in the lodge (facing the villas pool), as well as a "woodsview" of the partial parking lot - I'll request standard, pay standard and take my chances..:rotfl:

i thought that woodsview was a standard view....
that's what we got when we had a standard view room...

A standard view room is a view of the parking lot or service areas. A woods view room has a view of the trees to the sides of the building. A courtyard view has a view of the pool, waterfall or lagoon. I had a woods view room (5032) when I went in 2004. The view was incredible and am hoping to get the same one next trip. Below is the view from the balcony.

I booked a room only std view directly with Disney before the 2008 rates came out. I did this because I know it is very hard to get the std. view since there are not that many of them. When the package rates came out, I rebooked the std room with the MYW with DDP.

Then I checked with my AAA TA to see if she could beat the price. She was not able to get a std view, but she was able to book a woods view with the MYW with DDP at the AAA discount. I saved just about $100.00, plus I got the upgrade to the woods view vs. the std.

She wasn't able to have my reservation transfered to her, but she booked it for me, and then when I got home I cancelled my reservation with Disney.
