The problem here is simply that most smokers don't understand the rules regarding smoking threads here on the Resorts Board. That's understandable since different rules apply depending on whether the thread is pro or con smoking. If a non-smoker wants to start a thread bashing all smokers everywhere, that is acceptable. On the other hand, should a smoker attempt to politely explain or challenge that assumption, that is not acceptable and will most likely result in either a warning, points, or the deletion of the post.
So...smokers, if we play nice with the non-smokers, this thread may be allowed to stay open. What they really want us to do here is to leave this thread alone and allow non-smokers to bash us unchecked. That would seem fair enough to me as well, lets give them a place to do that. Everyone deserves a place to vent about things that really bother them. However, then they must also allow us our own thread to do just that....and not allow non-smokers to invade that same type of venting thread for us. Where we can freely complain about people who choose to sit in a park DSA and then loudly complain about the fact that WDW allows anyone to smoke anywhere on their property. However, our previous attempts to have a thread of that nature are exactly what got us to the point that we are no longer really allowed to express our opinions as smokers at all.
