No sites for Halloween?!

I must be crazy... I went to look for a camp site for Halloween weekend and there's no availability in any of the sites! Is that normal this far out?

I'm kinda sad cause it was going to be our first time actually camping and some of our good friend's first time at the Fort. Do you think I should just hold out and see if anything comes up??

Keep trying every morning, sometimes a few times a day. We went this past Halloween and were lucky to book something in July (took 3 months though!) This year i waited til November thinking i wouldn't have a problem, was i wrong! It took me til January to book a premium site for Halloween week! I should have done it the minute i left on Nov 1st. Won't make that mistake again! Also for golf carts, 1/3 of them were booked already when we booked ours so i would do that now. People always cancel so just keep checking. But Halloween is a very popular and busy time there. I hope you book it, its our favorite!!

Um, yes it is normal this far out.

Halloween is the one time that just amazes me about the Fort. And with 10/31 falling actually on a Saturday this year (and not mid-week), it will be even tougher than it was last year. I bet it's the first weekend of the year to fill up on reservations whenever that happens.

Like others said above, keep trying for a cancellation.

PS - personally Halloween weekend and Christmas-New Years are the two times I would tell people to make a reservation a year in advance....

I can't even imagine how crazy it will be on a saturday this year! Alot of the locals come to the fort to trick or treat also. We went to the MNNSHP on Halloween last year and it was mobbed. But the weather is wonderful. We went swimming in the morning and went to the party at night.

We booked a premium site for the week of Halloween 2015. I called and got it a day or two after Halloween last year. A week later they were booked.
