No show for ME - does that cancel return?

We have ME booked coming and going on our trip. I am still torn between renting a car at the airport or taking ME to the resort. IF we decide last minute to rent a car, how would that affect our ME on the return? That is, if you don't "check in" and use your ME reservation on the way in, will that somehow cancel your return?

Not sure if that makes sense . . . .

This is irrelevant because you can reserve the return at least by morning of the day before checkout at your resort.

One way on ME is no problem.

They do appreciate your calling to cancel (you don't have to if the only phone is the $6.00 per minute Airfone in the seat in front of you) so they can better plan the number of buses needed.

Right, I have used ME one way on a couple of occasions, and realize that I can book it again if necessary. My question was if they are linked in some way which cancels my return (necessitating rebooking) if you don't use the "to WDW" portion.
