I've already done my happy dance! I really did not want to go in today and now I can relax (well, as much as you can relax with a hyper 4 year old).

This is the third school day in a row for my kids. Man, I wish they'd call off work so easy for me, lol. I'd love to have a snow too. HMPH! Although, when I look outside, I'm not even sure WHY they called off school here, lol.

lol where are you in Kentucky?

They pretty much had to here in Lexington, since they totally screwed up on Friday. I think we were the only county with school on Friday - and there were over 150 accidents (some involving school buses).

No school here in Michigan! I swear, I think ours was the last district to make the decision, but they finally cancelled.

I'm in Frankfort. When I first heard the list of closings on the radio, they skipped Franklin County, so I thought they had school. Then someone called and told them they skipped it. So, DD14 just came out and I broke the good news to her. She thought I was teasing her. Then she came and hugged me, lol. Like it was my decision.

Did they let the kids go home early, Friday, in Lexington. I heard that it was pretty bad there. DH works in Lex.

No school here either! Not because of snow tho...the windchill's -35 below!

LOL I know how she feels.

No, we stayed in school, which was probably best, plus it's a HUGE pain to send the kids home early. There was at least one more bus accident in the afternoon, but the roads were much better than in the morning.

Everyoen enjoy your special day off and stay warm! :thumbsup2

Same here - NO SCHOOL! For the kids and for me!!!!!!!!

Windchilll is -35F - a little too cold ... even for us Wisconsin folk!

No school here in Madison, WI either. The thermometer on the house says -18F. I would prefer a snow day where my DD could play outside. Now, we're stuck inside with endless Sponge Bob ...

Ours is -35 too but school is still on.:sad2:

With the windchill we are minus 10 and DS is off at school. His school never closes unless there is a state of emergency.

It's 0 here and they canceled!

BUMMER! I don't want them to start canceling too much school because we have our WDW trip planned for the day school lets out. :rotfl2: Talk about cutting it close.

Okay. It was -22----30 over the weekend. I curled in a bonspeil. Never got too cold, in fact was in a longsleeved T-shirt for most of the games. Today though is a bit different. Our schools are closed. Our weather station recorded -53 windchill at 4:58 am. It is -33 right now no wind. The college did not close so my older daughter is a bit ticked. She said it is not so bad because she parks on the frozen lake and it is only about a 100 feet to the closest building and they are all connected by underground tunnels. I am going to hang at home today!!!! Not even out of my jammies yet!! Love it!!

A bonspiel is a curling tournament and curling is a sport played on sheets of ice similar to shuffle board ( no skates just shoes) US got a bronze medal in the Olymipics last year. That team was from our town. Very popular here!!

Oh, we did not win but really had a great time!!

Okay! Is that the thing with the little brooms and they're trying to get the weight thingy to go a certain distance?

That looks cool.

DD is off today and I think it is silly. Yes, it is cold, -7 atm, but these are spoiled surburban kids who get dropped off at the door. Only a few take the bus and even less "have" to walk. Geesh. Now the City of Chicago schools have not been canceled and by and arge those kids DO have to take public trans or walk. Go figure.

No school in Buffalo either. I'm v. grateful for a day off, even though it blows my lesson plans off course.
