No School First Week of January

Yes, its true. I would say the first 2 weeks of January are very busy at Disneyland since most college students are still out on christmas break.

Then should the crowds the week before Christmas, specifically mon. 12/19 and tues. 12/20 be a bit lighter than normal? What are the crowd predictions for those days?

A lot of schools will be out that week. It's going to be very busy.

December looks like an exponential curve. It goes from slow to ok real slow, ok to insane real fast.

We're there the first week in January and planned around the fact that crowds are historically low. Slightly miffed about the crowd levels but will just have to deal with crowds. Growing up in Northern California we always returned to school the first Monday following New Years.

My family is going to Disneyland Jan 3-6. I looked on Touring Plans where it said it should be a low crowd. However, when I made my dining reservations the women on the phone explained some schools are still out that week for Christmas break. Anyone know if that is true?

Yes. We are in the largest elementary school district in AZ and go back on Jan. 9th.

One way to figure out when to expect crowds is to look at park hours (not so easy months out I realize) but if the park is open from 8am - 12m mid-week then you can expect the crowds.

I think it will be crowded beginning the 17th thru the 2nd week of January... we are going tomorrow and Monday and its supposed to rain... which happened the last time we went in November. Oh well, we will make the best of it!

I am in Pasadena ... about 35 -40 mins away and our schools are closed until the 9th. DD and I plan on going to the parks several days that week!
