I tried to price a trip to Disneyland for 3 nights starting Sept 23. According to the Disney site and Travelocity, the only rooms available for those dates is a Suite at Paradise Pier...nothing at the Grand Californian or Disneyland Hotel.

Can this be right? Is there something going on that weekend?

I don't think there is anything extra special that weekend. I would try calling the hotels directly.

Did you go through the Disneyland.com website? If so, there are rooms available. I just tried to make a "fake" reservation, and the first hotel that popped up was Paradise Pier. If you go to the right side of the page and change your hotel preference, it should be fine. For some reason, it defaults to PP.

Edited to add: Just looked carefully, and it shows "one bedroom suite" for both DLH and GC. Dang!!

Yes there is a HUGE convention there that week (National Safety Council Congress & Expo). It is estimated to have 20,000 in attendance. :scared1:

I am so bummed because we usually go during that time and I was thinking of going back and scrapping my DW Free dining plans due to costs but rooms are expensive and seem to be limited already.

justkeepswimmin - you just reminded me I forgot to check the convention center website before booking our 9/7 - 9/9/08 trip. I'll have to check it tomorrow.
