So I haven't posted here in a while, and the wedding is almost 2 weeks away (aaah!)...I just got informed by my sister-in-law that there are no rooms left at any of the value resorts for the wedding. Our room block was released on November 16, and she says she booked a while ago, but that the credit card was never charged, and when they finally ran it through, it had expired. So she says that Disney informed her that her reservation was no longer confirmed. I called Group reservations to check on what happened and they told me nobody had ever booked and/or cancelled a room under that name  . Of course, now everything is booked. I am so mad:mad: !! I've been reminding her to book their room for months now, my two nieces are in the wedding, and now they can't find a place to stay!

Any ideas??? They can't afford a moderate (the cheapest one available is $240 a night at POR, compared to $83 at the ASM.) I really wanted them to stay at ASM since it's part of our room block and we arranged to have the charter bus pick everyone up there.

I see you're in Florida... Have you checked the florida resident rates on disneyworld.com? $240 sounds crazy expensive. I'm a fl resident too and i've never paid that much for a moderate, even booking at the last minute! Also try the AAA website. Even if you're not a member, you can still book rooms thru the site.

For others brides who may be reading this... you can call the group reservation number and ask for a spreadsheet of everyone who's booked rooms for your wedding. I do it every 2 weeks so I can keep on top of people, and also keep a record of everyone's confirmation numbers in case something happens.

Great tip :thumbsup2 I will definitely be doing that!

Hi Dee! :wave2:

Wow I can't believe you are two weeks away! Time has really flown huh? That really sucks about the room situation! I don't really have any suggestions other than tryng to book with a Florida resident discount. They are showing a Florida resident discount for $64 a night at a value resort from Dec.9-15th for Sunday-Thursday stays (I don't know if those dates are over your wedding). It'd seem like they'd have to remove that discount from the page if there was no space left... Maybe if all else fails she could just stay at a cheap hotel outside of Disney? Some are a very close drive. I know that would stink though... sorry I can't be more help!

I bet you are so excited though!!! It's so close!

I think you should keep calling CRO every morning to check if anything has opened up for your dates. People cancel reservations all the time and I've heard that if you call at 7am when they open you have the best chance of snagging a room. The computer updates overnight so any cancellations from the previous day are available then.

Good luck! :)

thanks everyone for your suggestions. i went to the disney site but errors kept popping up for the FL resident page, so i'll try it again later. I also checked AAA and the best thing i found was $145 at POFQ, which would be good since that's part of our room block and the bus will be stopping there. I'll tell my SIL to keep calling and see if anything pops up!

So here's what I've learned today....keep on top of your guests about booking their rooms way in advance...especially your immediate family and/or wedding party!!

I agree with everyone... People have until 5 days before their trip to cancel, so just keep calling. Good luck!

Also, FYI - it will tell you on the room block spreadsheet if a room has been cancelled. We changed our reservation for after the wedding and it shows the one we cancelled and the new one we made. I don't know if it would show it if the reservation was never made though (i.e. they ran her card through and couldn't book it at that time).

My spreadsheet doesnt have cancellations... and ive made a few! I think it depends on who sends it, because the spreadsheet looks different every time I get it.
