NO Rooms at the GF Oct 6-10?????

We thought we would try to sneak a quick trip in Oct before our big Dec trip to WDW, but i just checked online and our favorite resort the GF is booked no rooms available according to disney.com Never been to Disney in Oct , but I thought Oct was a slower month (except Halloween). Does anyone know if something special is going on that weekend.

There is a Halloween Party that night. We were at the World last year that weekend and the Poly was booked for that night, first Friday night HP. Another thing is I think that that is Columbus Day weekend or something. Our kids are out of school that Monday. MAkes me glad I have a ressie for WL for those nights already. Now just hoping they release an AP code.

Maybe alot of people are taking advantage of the free dining package that is going on?

October has MNSSHP, Columbus Day & Fall Break for many schools, and a big Golf thing, plus the Food & Wine Festival and Eat to the Beat concerts. I was surprised my last 2 October trips at how crowded it was. Not horrible, but there were lots of people.

As stated October is a busy month at Disney. The news about the great weather got out and now everyone is wanting to come then.

Also Disney plans several special events that month. October used to be value season but is now considered regular season. The Halloween party is scheduled for several nights during the month.

Also October is a busy time at Disney for weddings due to the weather. The Grand Floridian would be especially affected by weddings and conventions.

If you want a slower, less busy time try September.
