Does this happen often?

Vacation dates 12/5 thurs to 12/10 (checkout date)

Was able to get a room for 12/5 at either ASMo or POR

Was able to get a room for 12/7-9 at Coronado

But cannot find a room AT ALL, even asking about GASP full price rates for any of the above three resorts for 12/6. There is, of course, availibility at the Yacht Club for $198/nite- OUCH.

CM I talked to said 12/6 is really booked due to it being a Fri. (peole coming in for weekend) and there is an X-mas party at MK that nite.

Checked travelocity, orbitz and expedia- no rooms there either (not that I find that out till the very last entry).

Have booked back-up at the Grosvenor but would really like to stay on-site. Other than keep checking back any advice.

Would like to keep price for 12/6 under $100 for the nite.

I am having the same problem but with slightly different dates. I can't get 12/13 but was able to get 12/14, then from 12/15 - 12/19 we are staying with our points at our DVC home BWV, then the only rooms available for 12/20 & 12/21 were deluxe resorts with a discount so I booked the last 2 nights at BWI for $187.50 per night including tax which is $87.50 per night more than I wanted to pay but at least we won't have to move far for the last 2 nights, we just have to walk from the BWV to the BWI! LOL! But for the night of 12/13 there is nothing except at the deluxe resorts and while I am willing to pay deluxe resort rates for 2 nights I am not going for 4 nights! So I am going to keep calling to see if that one night becomes available if people cancel as the time comes closer.

I will be staying from Dec 13th-19th. I booked about a month ago, and already the resorts were filling up. Its beginning to sound like this holiday season is going to be bustling at WDW. Here's wishing you luck!

Definitely keep trying! People cancel all of the time- I had this same problem last year, and finally ended up getting exactly what I wanted 3 weeks before the trip. I think all of the discount codes that have been released have prompted people to book rooms even when they might not be 100% sure that they are going, also I believe that WDW holds some rooms in reserve, and they release them to be booked closer to the actual date. I'd try calling at least weekly---Jill

Sometimes there are deadlines to cancel - usually 45 or 21 days out. Try calling back after those times because anyone who is going to cancel, will do it before they can't get all their money back.

Have you tried any of the other mods like POR?

I know others that are having the same problem. It must be this hard due to SoG being moved, and CBR being closed and all those people moved. So, in essence, they are two resorts short this season!!

Another option is to look for a package with a TA. Tour operators have blocks of rooms, so sometimes if you can't find availability through Cent. Res., a TA can get space, and visa versa. If you don't need airfare, there are land-only packages, and many have the passes to WDW as an option, so if it's a better deal to get those separately you can.

I am having the same problem for 12/5 - 12/8 I want to see Marlee Matlin narrate the CAndlelight Processional. For now I have reservations at the Courtyard Marriott. I AM NOT A HAPPY CAMPER. My kid becomes a Disney Castmember and I can't even get a reservation at a Disney resort. Geez!

I would suggest trying a package through a travel agent or airline. They have blocks of rooms reserved.

Also I would suggest calling back often. Especially at 60 days out, 45 days out, 30 days out, and 5 days out.

Don't give up! :)

I don't know if a TA will help. When I started trying to book 12/5-12/8 a couple of weeks ago I found no availability at Disney resorts. I sent an EMail to Dreams and they said the same thing, no availability even at full price. Luckily I was able to book the Swan for the teacher rate of $129 a night. If we had to go further offsite I don't think we would have gone, but the Swan sounds cool.

You may find that booking on-line using the official Disney website will help. When I went there just now to check your dates, they had availability for ASMo for December 5th-11th. When I changed check-out to the 10th, after re-reading your post, ASMo had disappeared, but ASMu was still available over those dates ($431.20 for 6 nights). It's very volatile, so if you see what you want you have to snag it right away!

I was trying to book our Christmas Disney vacation about a month ago and while I was on the phone to a CM I lost 3 different reservations while they were taking down all the information!! They told me that the on-line reservation system has a different block of rooms, and sure enough I was able to go ahead and book just what I wanted on-line.

Good Luck!

We were having the same problem at FW. We wanted to stay Dec. 15 thru Christmas. I kept calling and once I was able to extend our stay thru Dec. 21st. The CM told me that the best way to get a site/room was to call at 7am EST. She said the computers cancel out all ressies that don't have a deposit or payment automatically at midnight. The next morning I called at 7 and was able to get our trip extended thru the 25th.

Try that and good luck!!!

ASMovies is the most popular on-site resort. You may have trouble getting a room there any time of year. No surprise there.
The situation at the moderates (and elsewhere) is aggravated by Caribbean Beach being closed; that's 2000+ rooms taken out of action.

Suggestions? Other All-stars, or bite the bullet and go for AKL or WL, the least expensive deluxes. As usual, check out www.mousesavers.com for suggestions on holding down cost. And next year, reserve EARLY if you want ASMovies, otherwise August for a December trip should work fine.

Would be nice to be able to do but since Disney doesn't give out the narrators for CP until mid-October it isn't possible. The reason for the trip is to attend CP with Marlee Matlin who signs the narration. It is a far better xperience for me than to have to watch the interpreter for everything. Of course my dh feels it is kind of strange to hear the voice of a man when he knows the narrator is a woman. But then he doesn't sign much yet. He's learning.

TalkingHands, the CP narrators have been announced. There was a thread on the Theme Parks board with a list. I don't know how to post a link, but it was there yesterday. I do know that Scott Hamilton is narrating on the 17th which is the day my family is going.

i just read on another thread that a cm at cro told her that they are offering GREAT FL resident rates the weekend of 12/6 and many of the resorts were filled up. just an fyi

No offense, but:
You realize you are going at a very popular time of year and it is already October. Inventory of budget rooms is not infinite. I would say keep trying and hope for a cancellation!

I had the same problem, wanted to come in on sat 12/7, couldn't get the WL till 12/8. I kept calling back, and nabbed the extra day. Keep at it..

Actually, the first couple weeks of December are the least busy time (i.e. not very popular) of year to visit WDW.
