Well, I have learned my lesson. I cannot book any dvc room on points for the dates I want in Oct. I will keep trying to see if something opens up.It's a little frustrating but what can you do.
Jennifer, Call back. Make sure you get a vet on the line. See if they can get you in for your dates, but split between two resorts. Disney makes it so easy to move between resorts, it might be worth a try.
That's not surprising. October is the F&W Festival, adn those rooms book up long in advance. I booked BWV at the nine month mark for our dates, and availability was already somewhat limited.
I am still waiting on the okay from my job to go down to Disney Oct. 5-9. I assumed most of the DVCs were out of the question but thought I'd at least have a chance with SSR. Any thoughts?
My dates would be for Oct 13-16. Those are all I checked. I am going to keep calling back. I have booked a cash ressie at pop (my kids love it there) but hopefully a room will open up.
In July I made a ressie for Feb (president's day weekend) and the only resort I could book was OKW. My dates are not flexible. My dd participates in Twirlmania.
It does seem that is is getting harder to book every year.
What size room are you trying to get when you call? A couple weeks ago I booked the last week of Feb at AKL one bedroom concierge for a week. Yesterday I added a one bedroom onto my ressie at SSR for Oct1.
October is low points I believe and a lovely time to be in WDW. December is also booked early as the points are low and all of the Christmas festivities are going on.

Hi, Check out the Oct.Waitlist Thread there are quite a few of us waiting for our dates at SSR. You may want to call and check your dates availability,so you can have a back up plan?? Good Luck! Joan
Hang in there, keep the faith, and for goodness sakes keep calling back!! ONe cast member can tell you one thing ie: no availability, and call back in 5 minutes and another will have what you want. It's crazy sometime and I have no idea why lol. Good luck and keep trying!!
Keep calling, every day if you have to however in my 9 years of DVC membership, I have found that the key to getting the dates that you want is to book early.
Otherwise availability is limited, especially now since they have renamed the DVC Resorts and are now available to the general public for a price.

FWIW, I just checked regular cash room availability for those dates and was unable to find a room available. So I don't think this is really a DVC point issue, just that WDW is full that week. Not only is it F&W and MNSSHP, it is also fall break for some schools.

Hang in there.....fingers crossed for you ! I had a choice last year of BWV, VWL, SSR or OKW for first week of Oct and at only 45 days out. Cancellations do happen. Call daily.
There are a few times of year when you can't depend on getting a reservation a couple of months in advance -- October and November are two of those months. The F&W festival is extremely popular and those of us who are addicts don't leave our stays to chance -- we book 11 mos in advance. I'm sorry you're struggling -- maybe moving your dates to after the F&W festival would help.
Called and nothing available, including SSR, for the October dates. Usually we do book our DVC trips at 11 and 7 months, but occasionally it would be nice to do a last-minute one. I've been to F&W three different times. Kinda sad I'm going to miss it. My job has not been very accommodating with vacations this year, and I didn't think I would have the time off. Oh well. Looking forward to our December trip to BCV.
