No resort reservations yet for 2022 (Update - 2022 Now Available)

Called to make a Poly reservation for April 2022 as I am within the 499 day window. However, the cast member informed me that they are not taking reservations for 2022 yet.

This may be well known but it was a surprise to me!

It's slated to re-open sometime summer 2021.

I'm booked there July 19-24, 2021 and have not been advised that it's not on schedule. (July 19, 2021 is the first day for regular room reservations. Unless it has changed in the last few minutes and my TA hasn't gotten to me yet.

Not just the Poly. All resort reservations are closed for 2022. Not shocking given Covid, I was just surprised that's all.

Since mostly DVC resorts are open, you can't book there until 11 months out if you booking through Disney Reservation Center. And maybe not even that early since DVC members get first shot at the DVC resorts.

I’m thinking they’re going to hold off on 2022 reservations until Late Summer/Early Fall just like they did in 2020 for 2021. That could be the new normal going forward. Especially since there are a bunch of resorts that have no reopening dates.

I think you may be thinking of packages. Packages are typically released in June for the following year. The only difference this year is packages were only released for Jan 1-Sept 27, 2021 in June, then available for the rest of the year as of Oct 15th.

Room only reservation for 2021 started as early as August 19, 2019, well before Covid was a thing. It's not clear to me if they ever shut down room only reservations for 2021 but I don't know for sure.

I'm going to call after the new year and will post here next week.

They did shut down all reservations (including room only) for 2021 during the shutdown and didn’t start them back up until Fall. It was major news around here when people were able to book rooms again for 2021. With the uncertainty around which resorts will open and when they will reopen that’s why I think they’ll hold off on starting 2022 reservations.

I checked the site today 1/31/21 and still nothing to book after December 31st We are looking at Fort Wilderness for April 2022 and hoping everyone doesn't grab the week after Easter Sunday before I get a chance to make a reservation.

I'm planning to visit at the end of April or May. Looking at the DVC points calendar, the last week of April is more expensive than the weeks surrounding it. Is this due to just high expected crowds usually that week or is there something special that happens that week?

Easter in 2022 is Sunday April 17. Is that the week you’re looking at? The week before and after Easter are 2nd only to Christmas-New Years week for crowds.
