No reservation last 60 days??

If I understand it correctly reservations in the last 60 days of your use year can only be made at a DVC Resort - no reservations are available in the last 60 days in the Concierge Collection. Can anyone confirm this. A friend of mine (also a DVC owner) was confronted with this recently. Appreciate any comments.

Well, yes and no.
Yes you can make a ressie at other than a DVC resort for the last 60 days of your use year. But, you have to make the ressie before the last 60 days. NOT if you are with in the last 60 days, the breakage period.

So, if you want to stay at, say the Poly in May, and you have a June use year, you need to make the ressie before April 1st. I hope that clears this up. It is a little confusing.

Yes, Bill's explanation is correct. I came to understand this concept this year when I had to cancel a FL trip that was also toward the end of my Use Year. If you think about it, it makes sense. They need to have at least 60 days to "sell" your DVC reservation to "pay" for whatever trip you might want to take.

I just bought a small add-on with a Aug use year. Can we still make a reservation for OKW if it's less than 60 days and they have an opening? It will be close to the 60 day mark by the time we close and I hate to lose the points. Is it just the Disney resorts and not the DVC resorts? Thanks

Minnietta, the 60 days are just for trading outside DVC resorts for the regular Disney hotels. So, in answer to your question, yes, you can make a reservation at one of the "Home Resorts" if there is availability in the last 60 days of your use year!

Yes, this is just for NON-DVC resorts. Remember you can bank up to 25% of your TOTAL points, but that has to be done by the end of May. for the Aug use year. That is your add-on plus you current contract. So if you have 150 points and just added 50, to can bank 25% of the total, that is 25% of 200 or 50 points. That is as long as you haven't banked any points so far.
