No receipt when paying off room reservation?

we have a room only reservation booked for the end of July. We are using Disney Rewards Dollars (from our Disney Visa) to pay for most of our trip, and I wanted to go ahead and pay off the balance on our room with rewards dollars as soon as we had them - we were nervous about having what was essentially an $800 Disney gift card just sitting around! So I called and was able to pay off the room balance, no issues. The problem is, the CM told me that they don't sen any sort of confirmation about payments for room only reservations, and there is no way to even look online on MDE to show the balance is paid for. That just makes me nervous. I KNOW he SAYS it is paid off, and I suppose I could call back and have someone else confirm that it's paid off......but I can't think of any other scenario in which I'd pay close to $800 for something and NOT be given some tangible proof that I'd paid for it!
Does this seem correct....or is there a way to get some confirmation that this particular CM just wasn't aware of? Anyone have this situation before?

I've never gotten a confirmation/receipt when paying off a room only.

I would call again to get a receipt. We were once booked and paid at All Star Music. WDW had not sent us anything showing our payment, so I brought the Visa statement showing that we had paid. When we arrived at the resort, the CM told me that we owed the entire total for the room. They wouldn't believe that I had paid until I produced the Visa receipt. So, mistakes do happen and it is always a good idea to have a receipt to prove your payment!!!

Ugh, this is what scares me......we can look online and see that $787 of our Disney reward dollars have been spent, but there is no way for us to prove HOW they were spent, as you don't receive a statement or anything on those reward dollars.

Just call back and ask them to send you a receipt by email reflecting your zero balance. We book room only trips all the time and that's what I do each time I pay it off.

Thank you, I will do that. The CM I talked to the first time said "I'm sorry, but we just don't send any kind of confirmation on payments, there's just no way I can do it". Sounded kind of strange to me!

You're welcome and you may have just gotten a newer CM who didn't know but I can tell you that you don't always have to ask for a receipt. When I paid off our August trip a few months back, the CM told me she would send me a new confirmation before I even asked and I ended up getting my email about an hour after I hung up :).

I got my receipt showing my balance paid, but I specifically asked for it to be sent to me. I didn't use reward dollars though, do you use that through the main disney reservation line?

Update - I called back tonigh, got somebody different, and she said that yes, they normally would email a receipt and she didn't know why the previous CM said they don't. She also said that my email wasn't linked t my reservation.....which makes no sense either, as they emailed me my initial reservation confirmation! Either way, she did show a zero balance and said she is emailing a receipt, which could take up to 24 hours to receive. If it never shows up, I'll call again tomorrow!:snail:
