No ramp at Boardwalk

I was at WDW last week. We did not stay at Boardwalk, but we went there to eat once. Beware that there is no ramp from the curb down into the street at the main Boardwalk bus stop at the entrance to the hotel. I don't mean NO as in not convenient or close, I mean No as in none at all. Some busses can flip back door open right onto the curb, but for some reason, our bus's ramp put my WC into the street, and I could not get up onto the sidewalk without standing up briefly and having my family lift my chair up onto the sidewalk and then sitting back down.

I know, this seems unbelievable, but it is true. Just thought I'd pass this along if you are staying at Boardwalk and are using a WC or other device.

I've stayed at Boardwalk before with my chair and had no trouble getting on the busses. They let the ramps down on the sidewalk. I know to get down to the back of the resort I have to take an elevator to the ground level but in the front of the resort I did find the busses to be accessible and there's a ramp where you would go to parking. ----Kathy

I believe you were very unlucky. I have been staying at the Boardwalk in a wheelchair most every year since it opened and I have used this bus stop for every trip I have made to MK, AK and DTD. I have never had this problem.

The bus drivers have always pulled in tight to the sidewalk to pick me up or set me down, sometimes waiting to pull in tight to the sidewalk if another bus is there. I think that, exceptionally, you must have had a novice driver.

As Kathy says, there is a curb ramp somewhere near so people can push stroller to the car parking. I think it is near the corner where the bus exits to the left on the road from the porte clochere.
