No purses on rides?

From my reading, it seems that they are stricter about not allowing any bags onto rides at Universal Studios than they were when I was at Disneyland last year. At Disneyland, I brought a small purse with room for my wallet and a couple of other things which I brought onto all rides with me.

I have a couple of questions:

1. Is the no bags at all rule true of all rides, or will I be able to bring my purse on Cat in the Hat and similar slow rides that my 2 year old can ride?

2. On rides with child swap, can I bring my purse as far as I can bring my child that can't ride? I understand that at Forbidden Journey the child goes through the line up with you. Can the person keeping the toddler keep the purse too? I would think so, but I know what seems like it would be so isn't!

Thanks for your help!

1. Not all rides require lockers, only the thrill rides like the big coasters (Rip Ride Rockit, Hulk, Dragon Challenge, Mummy), Forbidden Journey, Dr. Doom and Men in Black. Free lockers are provided at each attraction.

2. Yes, you can bring your bags with you if you are doing a child swap :)

I understand why you wouldn't be allowed bags or purses would you be allowed a bum bag round your waist.?

Yes, those of us that like those most unfashionable bum bags get to ride. However, the bags need to be small enough to not interfere with the restraints. A small one that has prong closures is the best. Large ones may be told to be put in the locker. Mine is small and converts to a purse. Love it as it carries my small camera, phone, and wallet items: cash, cc, ID, tickets. I've seen lots of different styles.

agree. They need to be small and unobtrusive or you will be told to lock it up.I saw people with waist packs the size of a preschooler being told to lock it up.
