I have a couple of dinner spots and a breakfast spot open yet with no priority seatings made. What are the chances of getting in a restaurant for dinner (ie, Flying Fish) without a PS or if I called the morning of? What would be the wait for a party of six? What about a non character breakfast wait? Would it be best to make a PS just in case and cancel if I change my mind?

If your thinking about doing any of the popular places, like character meals or places like the Flying Fish, you may get turned away without PS.

If I were you, especially with a party of 6 I'd make the PS for the places you want to eat and then cancel them if you're not going to use them, better safe then sorry.

I have heard of people having a lot of luck calling in the am before leaving for the day at some of the less popular places.

We had luck with picking breakfast spots for places like Spoodles or other resort places that served breakfast, just walking in, but we knew we were taking a chance.

It also depends on when you're going. If it's off season you will probably have better luck winging it.

I've had my best luck without a PS by arriving when the place opened for that meal - usually seated within 20 minutes or less. If you arrive to far into the swing of the evening you risk being turned away - they only do so many walk ups in an evening if the PS slots are full.

I agree, if you're flexible you'll get in somewhere. Looking at your countdown, it looks like you're going during the July, which is VERY busy in WDW. If you go when they open, you'll probably have success, but if you plan on showing up at Flying Fish at 7:00 and want 6 people to be seated, most likely you'll either endure a LONG wait, or be turned away. (Sorry about that run-on sentence!) Breakfast, as long as it's not a character, you'll probably be o.k. Dinner is much more a challenge, and I'd make a PS, or try in the AM, but don't be suprised if you can't get the time/place you're looking for.

I'm taking the advice. I will make PS for the two nights for dinner that I haven't already. If we change our minds then we can just cancel and do counter service. It would be better to have a place to go. If there is a problem with breakfast there is always the Boardwalk Bakery for a change (that is what I want!).

I agree with most. Breakfast should not be a problem. We never make PS for breakfasts. Dinner is a different story. We have had difficulties getting PS for a table for 2 on short notice. While at MGM last month, we watched many times as Hollywood and Vine and the 50s Prime Time turn people away for dinner unless you had a PS. We have a trip planned for late July and I have made all of my lunch and dinner PS. While calling, the CM often told me I was getting the last PS for certain prime times. I think you'll be glad you made some PS for your trip. Chicken strips and burgers get old fast.
